I'd vote for a midweek date last week of the season, designed to get us within six points of the Brewers by that point in the campaign, and giving us a chance to win the title by beating them in both games...

A home and away blockbuster in the last week of the season would be some epic, but no guarantee that either club would hold their place until then. Given that the BSP policy is to encourage as early a date as possible (witness tonight when WE didn't really welcome it) I wouldn't hold out too much hope of that.

Would've loved to play Albion this evening especially as confidence is high at the moment! On the other hand, if Clough leaves this week and because of that the wheel comes off at Burton I'm happy to play them later in the season. Only time will tell....
Eyes on Rushden now, I wonder who's in the starting eleven and who's being rested?

I see Rushen have let Curtis Woodhouse go to Mansfield today for an undisclosed fee. Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere. Jody Banim outpaced him last year.

It doesn't seem a week has passed by since the temperature plummeted to -7 and the Burton game was called off. Just catching up on Paul Parker's column in the NLP and he tells us that following the late postponement of the Weymouth v Northwich game, Setanta were going to set up live coverage of the game at The Pirelli in just 8 hours. Can't quite think just what my thoughts would have been had we struggled all the way up there having taken all that collective time off work only to find we could have stayed at home and watched it on the telly.........................just as well it was off then and you can bet your life that the re-arrangement will be at the end of the season so they can set up a televised "Double Header" as the two clubs close in on the League title

"Double Header" as the two clubs close in on the league title? More like a televised Burton celebration of them clinching the league with us trying to confirm a play-off place!
