Seeing Barton Downs thread(Sticking one on the Argyle 1968)has reminded me to post this thread because I have been meaning to for some time. This game against Argyle was the very first away game I attended. On this day me and my family went to visit my Auntie who lived nearby in North Prospect. Walked to Home Park with by Dad and Brother. I don't remember anything about the game i`m afraid, the only thing I do remember is that during the match a lady standing near us said `Look at all the Torquay Fans`. We stood,as far as I can remember at the front of the Lyndhurst Stand towards the Devonport end. I wore this rossette which I made at primary school.Very brave of me! Just in case anybodys wondering,I think the `S` stands for support. After the game, when we walked back to my Aunties I do remember getting some funny looks from some disgruntled Argyle fans which scared me. Here also is a pennant from the same era which used to hang from the interior mirror of my Dads Ford Prefect, but I dont think is was on display that day or the car might of got wrecked! As you can see,its seen better days.

Timbo, it was only my second away game and my clearest memory of the day is of Argyle supporters pushing fireworks through the windows of our coach.
The next season we went down by car with scarves flying from the windows until - on entry to Plympton (no by-pass in those days) - my father insisted they were withdrawn from view!
And, yes, I had one of those pennants. They were all the rage in the late 1960s and the club shop at Plainmoor stocked pennants from dozens of other clubs.
