This morning at 4.36am the forum received its 25000 post, mind you sadly it only received two more during the whole day, but one did please me and that was the one made by jj, glad to see you back with us jj and get a new thread started soon.

How fitting that the 25000 post was made by a member who has supported the forum from its very start, a member who has contributed nearly every single day since he has been a member( only time he did not was after he downloaded something he should not have and got a virus ;D)

He has brought such great knowledge and posted on so many different subjects, he has treated us to his own brand of wit, but a few have felt his sharp tongue, but hopefully have not got to upset about it, as he means no harm or would ever harbour ill feelings to anyone who just disagreed with his views.

Yes I'm taking about merse and I have had my share of disagreements with him, but the forum would be a sadder place without him, so thanks merse for all your valuable contributions on the TFF.

Good to see thefarmersfriend getting some points for the posts he has made this week, its been a funny week really, some nights we have had top posts and new threads, while a few days have been almost dead, not moaning its just something I'm still learning to accept and I do know it is difficult at this time of the year to come up with much to talk about.

This week once again we had two members on the same number of points and both fully deserve to be our members of the week this week. One has treated us to some great pictures of London he has taken and I have really enjoyed them. I must confess I loved the street market ones the best as they show the character of London I wanted to see.

Are other winner has also treated us to some great photos he has taken, these have been of football grounds etc and as always they come with full explanations for each picture.

This weeks winners are Romfordkev and Chris Hayes

Well done and many thanks to you both for all the work put into putting up all the pictures.

Wise words from Dave on the topic of Week 45 and there were three points in particular which struck a chord with me.

Firstly, the quality - and quantity - of Merse's posts.

Secondly, the great photographic contributions from Kev, Chris and others.

Thirdly, the way the site ticks over in the summer. As Dave says there will be quiet times but not to worry!

And that's not to forget other regular contributors (both the verbose and pithy) and the occasionals who chip in nicely.

As for the Farmer's Friend, I assume any connection with the esteemed retail institution (just a stone's throw from where I live) - www.farmersfriend.co.uk - is either purely coincidental or meant as a tribute?

I fully agree Barton and any football forum has to work just that bit harder to keep active in between seasons. It will always be the case that any forum will have posters who post every day, some just once a week, others every now and then and some who will always be just readers.

If I had one wish it would be that a few more would post and share their views on the forum, but I know some won’t because they are concerned about remarks and comments that may be made about what they have had to say.

It has always been the case on the TFF that the forum will always do its best to make sure no member ever suffers abuse and when it has been felt that has happened I have tried to sort it all out so all members are happy in the end.

This time last year the forum was still very new, the posts being made were about the reasons for the forum, new members posting and saying how they liked the new forum and were glad it was set up. We also had posts about the problems being caused to the forum and had some posts from one person who was only on the forum to disrupted it and try and cause harm.

We have moved on one whole year and I’m very pleased we have kept the forum ticking over very nicely; this has been due to some members putting in some real effort and posting up many interesting pictures and threads that really have nothing to do with football.

This forum was firstly meant to be a TUFC forum, but I think it’s wonderful we cover so many other subjects and as you know Barton threads can often end up going into even more interesting subjects, just one reason we do not worry about threads going off topic.

The TFF has never been interested in numbers, it does not worry how many members it claims to have, quality has always been the name of the game, it also has always given out the message it is not here to compete with any other forums and its members should feel free to belong and use this and any other forum they might like too.

That is not the case elsewhere I’m afraid and I’m well aware the attitude is its US V THEM, a shame really but at least now the TFF is being left alone in peace to get on with what it does best.
