Currently working through the 100 Greatest Guitar Solos in the car on the way to work this morning. Only had time for two: Deep Purple - Lazy (Studio version) Lynyrd Skynyrd - Free Bird (All 11 minutes+, must be THE greatest solo, surely?) Free Bird, what an all time classic. I saw my mate last weekend for the first time in 15 years and he used to play this song the best i have ever heard. Canon Paul Cummins was awesome and apparently still plays a mean guitar.

Quadrophenia by The Who. Keith Moon at his imperious best throughout! I have been invited to see the stage version of this at Plymouth next week. Really looking forward to it except it has since transpired that it clashes with the Night of Legends at Plainmoor and I am very disappointed to have to miss this.

...well, what a fantakkers day and well done to all associated with TUFC, the staff, players, board and most of all our fantastic Yellow Army yesterday - it was truly incredible and yes, I finally, finally got to go off on one at Wembley down amongst the posh seats at pitch level in 104 section after the 2nd cracker from Sillsy went in, there is now enough room for the silly dancing and for one to go off on one as long as one ermm wants!!!!!!! ......never have the Fratellis, Quo, Sham 69 and Jeff Beck sounded so good!!!.... ..........and I kept to my word, this particular cynical 47 year old wore the comedy clown hat all the way from the stadium to the Tube afterwards!!............ only three songs really now to play...... "Bringing On Back The Good Times" - The Love Affair (July 1969) "Shout" - Lulu (May 1964) .....and there can only be one to finish..... ......spesh for my learned friends Dave R (keep up the great work on here old bean) and the auld muzo patchouli-stick waver himself, Mr_Chelstongull...... "Okey Cokey" - Slade - believe you me, Mr_W moonwalking may have to be left to the FA Cup parade to be seen to be believed!!!!....... rgds all Chris Donovan Gosport Hampshire aka Mr_W PS..as they say in the trade, its February, its away from home, its a Tuesday night, its snowing, they've never heard of oggies or Screech with ice n a slice, theres no programmes left and only one away turnstile open, it must be Accy Stanley away.......... ......Haaaaave it!!.......

BBC Radio Newcastle. The Relegation Special breakfast show tomorrow morning will make a welcome change to Radio Devon's anodyne fare.

The Legends Football Phone-In on Real/Century Radio (North East). Most nights - 6 to 8 - with Malcolm Macdonald, Bernie Slaven and Micky Horswill nicely encapsulating the lunacy of football in that neck of the woods.

Right now I'm taking advantage of the quiet before the storm (when the kids and their visiting cousins wake up!) to listen to Charlotte O'Connor ~ a seventeen year old star in the making in much same mold as Nora Jones, Corinne Bailey Rae and (just for Rob Chandler's taste buds) maybe Tinita Tikaram with her acoustic renditions of her own writings. Immediately after dispersing some of the stricken Morrissey's staff towards their scatted homes as his failed voice caused the temporary abandonment of his tour, I drove this lovely young lady to a studio and during the journey she told me all about her life in Blackburn and the very hard work and dedication she was putting into her fledgling career. So I got up early this morning whacked the head phones on and "googled" her, which if you do too you will get the chance to listen to her brilliant (in my opinion) material.........................enjoy!
