No reason to find songs with the word 'Down' in them anymore, I think it must be almost three months since I predicted our dramatic demise, and even the most (choose your own word) among us must accept it now! Great song with a great story behind it...but what would be the point of relating it? Enjoy.

I wonder if John Lennon knew how close he was to realising the true nature of reality with this song? Enjoy.

Imagine saying someone was fat nowadays...Rob would be out of his Bedsit (pot of glue in hand) faster than a Toupee in a Hurricane! Enjoy.

That song above is giving off mixed messages...if my French is correct of course. I think the song title says...don’t touch the girls!
Back in 1964 I was too young to touch girls, and as I have mentioned elsewhere, about that time I thought I had broken my Willy anyway!
By mixed messages I mean the song title and the singer. Had I been somewhat older in 1964, the first thing I would have wanted to do was touch her...even with a broken Willy!
Bloody French. 🐌

A bit of Madness trivia coming up for all the idiots like myself! I look upon myself as a latter day Forest Gump, seen a lot done a lot, and how I’m still around always puts a smile on my face. To be honest, the only real difference between Forest and I, was the fact he was shot in the buttox, and I was only stabbed in the buttox!
I fully expect Mr W to know this trivia, along with a couple of geniuses of course, but for all the other ignoramuses among us here it is.
The above song: Madness, was where Madness got their name, and the first song Madness released was called ‘Prince’ after Prince Buster!
A post coming up later in the week about the Bump...oh, you don’t want to miss that!
Enjoy.🙂

Lonesome Highway ..... Rory Gallagher
No music video as the thread title is asking me what I am listening to not what anybody else is listening to (and anyway everybody else should be still asleep).
I first saw him live on stage playing with the band Taste at the wonderful iconic Van Dike Club in Exmouth Road, Devonport, Plymouth (which by coincidence was only about 100 metres from the small maternity unit in Exmouth Road where I was born.) The small smoky club was revered amongst musicians as being on a par with London's Marquee Club and Liverpool's Cavern, and many famous names played there in it's short history in the late 60's and early 70's.
The next time I saw him it was playing under just his own name at the 1971 Reading Festival. A mid afternoon slot Rory soon brightened up a grey and miserable day.
Once we are allowed to travel further than the end of our front garden if you find yourself in the beautiful city of Cork do seek out Rory Gallagher Square. Nothing there but what better way to relax than with a proper Irish Guinness while thinking of the real Guitar Man.
Perhaps the biggest compliment ever paid to him though was by the great Jimi Hendrix. When asked "What is it like to be the best guitarist in the world?", Jimi replied "I don't know you should ask Rory Gallagher" 🎸🎶

So where was I...oh yeah the Bump.
You will all have realised by now that I am a man of many talents, but what you don’t know is that I excelled at the Bump!
One of the places where I strutted my stuff was The Royal in Guildford. About that time I had lost one of my front teeth (dropped into The Grand Canal in Venice) and remarkably it was one of my most successful time with women!
Upon walking into The Royal, I noticed a rather beautiful young woman sitting with her mates. So after having a drink with my mates, I got up and asked her for a dance...to which she agreed. You have all probably seen people do the Bump, just banging their hips together and looking rather silly. If it’s done properly though, you use every part of the body and it looks great. Depending on the girl who you are dancing with, there can be quite a bit of thrusting with the groin...and this girl was gorgeous.
So we had a great night dancing and talking, she told me she was a WRAC which made a nice change, because most of the girls I had been out with previously were wrecks!
So when the night was over I took her back to her barracks, and after a kiss and a cuddle we agreed that I should pick her up at the same spot the following evening. So I duly arrived at the spot and time we had agreed the following evening. One thing had changed though... the bloody car! I had swapped my car earlier that day with a mate and it was totally different! So there I sat for a considerable time (I had even washed my knob) and no show.
So off I went to The Royal to drown my sorrows. Roughly half an hour into drowning my sorrows guess who walked through the door? I was out of my seat like a rocket and went and tried to explain the situation, but she would only say two words to me...’f**k Off.’ Then she grabbed her mates and left...never to be seen again!
I sat down again to continue my sorrow drowning and contemplated a lonely evening. Then a smile came to my face, because I knew Mrs Palmer would be waiting for me when I returned to barracks...at least I hadn’t washed my knob for nothing!
James Brown, what a singer. A great song to Bump to and also a great song to listen to.
Enjoy. 🙂
