Saw Don McLean at Torquay Princess Theatre a couple of months ago. American Pie was the best number all evening because the audience sang it! 🎶

American Pie was the best number all evening because the audience sang it! 🎶 Its one of those songs that gets in one’s head and stays there. When the song first came onto the scene (onto the scene, now that’s showing my age) I thought it was about him going on some sort of diet. Then I had a closer look and noticed the word Miss, and after a bit of research I found out that Don was the forerunner of the Woke/Transgender movement! Going deeper, I found out what he had decided to become, but as this is a family site I think it best to keep my discoveries to myself. It was certainly “bye bye” to Miss American Pie though! |
