So who do you think will be the first player to score ten goals this season. This includes both league goals and cup goals.
I will go risky here and choose Green.
I think that he will come good, he had loads of chances against Truro, yes he missed them all, but once he scores, I think he will not stop. So Green it is then.

It has to be Sills for me.
I think with the service he is going to get this season he will be banging em in.

I think the safe option is the proven goal scoring talent of Sills; particularly as I think there will be improved service from the wings in the guise of Carlisle, Hodges, Caroyal et al!
Green is an outside bet as he hasn't found his goal scoring boots yet but then now would be a good time to start!
Benyon has scored the most pre season goals but most of these came against Newton Abbot and I am not sure if he is looking strong enough on the ball yet to justify a start although this may change later on in the season with injuries etc.
I am hopeful that plenty of goals will come from the Midfield area with Todd also contributing.

rjd, I think you are correct in saying that Sills would be the safe bet. Benyon has scored the most goals in the pre season games, but like you say he is not strong enough on the ball. Therefore I believe as long as Green stays fit, he will get the place next to Sills.
I will stick with Green as while Sills should get better service this season, his best chances of scoring, will be heading the ball. I don't think Sills will score that many with his feet, he will miss more than he scores. I feel Green with his pace and ability to beat his man, will get him into more shooting positions and I think his shooting is far more accurate than Sills.
I would also expect this season, to see our midfield adding to our goals tally, more than last season, I think Carlisle and Carayol will be the ones who will score most, but Thompson, will get a few as well.

I do think that the goals will be spread out amongst the team this season with the midfield getting its fair share.Wroe should get a few IMO

When I clicked on this thread I thought it was "which team wiill be the first to get to 10 points" Obvioulsy it isnt but it does beg a question?
Who do you think will be the first team to get to a certain points total? Lets say 10 points.
I think it is trying to find the team with the "easiest " start. I have been through the fixtures and every club has a tricky one or two. My money would be on kiddy. (i have said that just to hex them!)

First to ten points Jamie that could be nearly every team mate, would be very hard to guess the first team to ten. No this is about goals Jamie, so who do you think will be the first to ten GOALS ;D

If he gets a decent run in the team, and stays fit, I think Matt Green will be the 1st to 10. That's why I've sponsored him

I would have to go with the "banker" that is Tim Sills. I know they have only been pre season friendlies but I have been hugely disappointed that Matt Green hasnt been able to find the net yet - particularly given the opportunities he has had against much lower standard opposition. I still think he will come good - but would admit to being a little worried at the moment!

Green has missed them all as he wants to fool our opposition, thats all ;D I really think he has a lot to give and while Sills would be seem as the sure fire bet, I think Green is going to surprise everyone. Dear me what stick I will take from some If I'm wrong, did you know merse secretly has Benyon marked down as his first to ten

It really doesn't matter who gets first to 10......it matters how many players can break double figures how many goals we score in total ..and will that be enough to gain the points needed for promotion?

No you are right, but its only a bit of fun Andy and when there is not many threads than can be started to get posts on the forum, it seemed like it was a thread that some might like to post on.

Really it would be nice for Sills, Green and Benyon all to get their 10th on the same night - hopefully somewhere away and near London (please).
OK, I have a history of delusion ...
