Do you know when the first pictures were taken? one, two show houses only on one side, but three shows new houses at one end. I only ask as it seems no other houses have been built around the ground and can you tell me what the open space is used for beside the ground and what the big white thing is.

One of the Aerofilms books says the first two pictures were taken in May 1939 just as - it appears - the finishing touches were being put to the houses in Thistlebarrow Road. The newer houses were in place for pictures taken in 1993. The white rectange is an "all-weather" pitch: "-1g" by today's standards I'd imagine. The whole area is part of King's Park and the cricket pavilion was venue for yesterday's TFF History Sub-Group AGM:
