Well some have seen our players in action, while others have read the views of other fans, so how do you see the game going on Saturday.
What formation will we play
who will start and most importantly
what will the final score be.

Well I think we will play 4-4-2
The starting eleven will be
GK Poke RB Mansell LB Hodges CB Todd CB Johnson CM Thompson CM Wroe RW Carlisle LW Caroyol CF Sills CF Green
I think we will be very attacking and have most of the play, however I have a feeling we will go one down, due to a break away goal.
Green will pull one back and Todd will head in the winner.
So final score will be two --one to Torquay.

I think it will be the same starting eleven as you have said although I think there will only be one goal in it,a Sills header after the hour mark

Interesting. Do we really believe there will be no Nicholson in the line up? Was he not one of our best and most important, set piece wise, players last season?

He was indeed. but I feel Hodges played much better there and should get the nod over Nicholson. If Thompson or Wroe are missing from midfield, for what ever reason, then I would think Hodges would move into midfield, with Nicholson, then coming in at leftback.

I have a feeling that we may well line up as we did for the start of the Truro game, in other words:
GK Poke RB Mansell LB Nicholson CH Todd CH Johnson/Hargreaves RM Carlisle CM Thompson CM Hodges LM Carayol ST Sills ST Benyon
I think he might pick this team based on who are first opponents are, namely Histon, who play a very direct style, and also based on current form I feel that Benyon might just get the nod ahead of Green (due to lack of form) and Dsane (lack of match fitness after recovering from injury).
I think the team may well change again for the first home game against Woking, when the likes of Wroe and Green may well get the nod, but I guess that very much depends on how well we do at Histon.

If Hodges is backup to midfield, then where is Hargreaves. Do you think he might only play Centre back this season? I think this would be a big shame because he is such an effective midfielder. I also fancy Nicholson to hold the full back spot. Anyway this is my team prediction- GK Poke RB Mansell LB Nicholson CB Todd CB Johnson/Hargreaves( If Johnson doesnt sign by then) CM Wroe CM Thompson RW Carlisle LW Stevens CF Sills CF Green This is what I think the team may be, though Bucks may well put Hodges on the left of midfield. Also I would be playing Hargreaves in the midfield but, despite my adoration of him, i understand he probably wont be there. At this stage, I may also personally opt for Benyon but Green does deserve to prove himself. I'll go for 3-0 to United. This may be a little optomistic as Histon are a decent side who have just had a great season. Sills to score first, then Green, just before half time and another from Sills in the last few minutes.

Because I've not seen any of the pre-season, I wouldn't dream of predicting the line-up nor claim to suggest one; but I wouldn't expect to see Brett Johnson taking any role as he still hasn't decided to accept the club's offer yet and almost certainly has an offer from Brentford to consider as well............if not an improved one now he has one from us too! The manager can't be taking risks with unfamiliarity in this most vital of positions in the line up, and neither would I expect Woods being given clearance to leave( he is on a contract that has two years left to run yet) unless Johnson is signed, sealed; and delivered. Further more, I would be most surprised to see Nicholson (our sole international don't forget) lose his place that easily and would therefore expect Hodges to take the left of midfield slot in front of him and Hargreaves the central defensive role if he is passed fit. Whatever, it is imperative not to get beaten on the opening day, and Histon is just the sort of horrible little trip where there'll be the proverbial banana skin waiting to slip on and they will be delighted to have got such a high profile game to start their campaign at home. Therefore, expect the manager to go for as much experience all over the line-up wherever possible and pack the bench with pace, sharpness and flair with which to hit the home team towards the last quarter. I don't for one minute feel concern over strikers who have not been hitting the net pre-season as so often they are not at their best until the chips are down and they can feel the heat of the battle..................that's just how it is for so many players!

I will go for the same side as tufcwewillbeback but think Hodges will have the nod on the LW. I agree with Merse that the pace of Carayol & Stevens would be an asset on the bench together with Benyon/Dsane, a defender and Rice. I will go for a narrow victory to Torquay as per the previous season results but wouldn't like to predict the scoreline for obvious reasons....

I'm going for a close 2-0 win for the lads, if it was further into the season I don't think Histon would cause us too much trouble, but it's the first match of the season so we're going to still be a bit rusty, even with a pre season under our belts. I'm fairly confident we'll keep a clean sheet with Pokey between the sticks and I'm confident we have more than a few goals in us, but I'll go for a close 2-0 to kick the season off with.

Does anyone fancy predicting the line up and the bench. With the depth of our squad I think it could be harder this season for Bucks to pick a bench than a starting 11. I gave my idea of a starting line up in an earlier post so no, with no Johnson, I'll go for Hargreaves at the back with Todd. As for the Bench, i'll go with : Woods, Adams, Hodges, Carayol and Benyon.
That leaves no D'sane in the 16, despite the fact he was a regular at Accrington in the first half of last season. This shows that Bucks is going to have, perhaps, a tougher decision picking subs than an 11.

Well I need to change my team, but I do have a problem with my CB choice and I will tell you why. I believe Buckle thought he was going to sign Johnson, but as we now know that did not happen. What I worry about is, was Woods, then told he would not get many chances in the squad and that Truro would be happy to sign him? If that was the case, what effect would that have on him, how would he feel now, knowing that he would have been pushed out so Johnson could sign.
If this was the case, then to me that would indicate, that Buckle would have seen Hargreaves as is second choice playing along side Todd. So that is why I think it may well be Hargreaves, who will start as CB and not woods.
So here is my changed team plus my subs.
GK Poke RB Mansell LB Hodges CB Todd CB Hargreaves CM Thompson CM Wroe RW Carlisle LW Caroyol CF Sills CF Green subs keeper? Benyon, Nicholson, Woods, Stevens.
