Another programme for a match against last Saturdays opponants. This time in the first round of the FA Cup. A 7-1 win for us which was our biggest ever victory in the competition. Attendance:5661. And what was so special about the scorers of those seven goals?

And what was so special about the scorers of those seven goals? All seven scored by proper Torquay boys - Bond 3, Pym 3 and Northcott.

....and watched by at least one proper Torquay boy (me). I can vividly remember Ernie Pym nutmegging their centre half on the way to scoring one of his three.
The following week at my primary school (Priory, St Marychurch) each pupil in my class had to compose a letter to some one on any subject of choice. The point being to properly address it and sign it off with correct salutations (unlike the casual way in which we communicate these days). So, I did a mini match report in a letter to a friend and it survives to this day as my mum kept all my school exercise books for posterity!

I used to sit next to Ronnie Shaw's daughter in class at the same school too!
