This is a friendly from Wednesday, 13th March 1968 against OIS of Sweden. Interesting that goalkeeper Brian Griffiths doesn't show as ever having played a first team game... And the write-up for the visitors is straight out of The Muppets... Should we rename the Premiership the Mastership?! Did anyone see this game? What was the attendance, the score, etc.

Well Budleigh, you beat me to it in posting this one, well done. Forgotten I`d had it,found it when I was fishing out the Shrewsbury Programmes. Score 2-2. Attendance:3,125. Also here is the same line up including some team changes. I`m surprised that Jon or Barton haven`t already come up with the statistics, but perhaps they know the scorers.

This is a friendly from Wednesday, 13th March 1968 against OIS of Sweden. Interesting that goalkeeper Brian Griffiths doesn't show as ever having played a first team game... Griffiths was from Sully near Cardiff. He had a trial at the start of the 1967/68 season, but O'Farrell plumped for the more experienced Andy Donnelly as his reserve keeper instead. Griffiths got a second chance when John Dunn was sold to Aston Villa. In addition to the OIS match, he played in the Devon Bowl semi at Exeter six days later and in quite a few Western League games. In the OIS game, there were a couple of changes from the team in the programme. Burgess replaced James and Stubbs replaced Welsh. Binney came on as a sub for Shepherd and Benson for Scott. Shepherd scored in the 9th minute, Loov equalised in the 15th. Bond's penalty was in the 24th minute with Loov's second equaliser coming soon after.
