Sadly Bob Glozier never played for Torquay United again after that knee operation.
But it was the start of a wonderful Torquay United career for Clint Boulton who almost equally divided his career between the two clubs (244 league games for Vale; 262 for Torquay).
And what of the welcoming of Fred Ford to Plainmoor as assistant manager? A pretty experienced "junior partner" at the age of fifty-five and a former manager of Bristol Rovers, Bristol City and Swindon Town.
