You won't believe this...................... We've just received a letter by first class post informing us that in order to protect the health of their staff, the London Fire Brigade insist that we refrain from smoking in our own home for at least one hour before they carry out a smoke alarm inspection of our place............................so what happens if there is a ruddy fire then? As it happens, there aren't any smokers in our family; but it doesn't half make me want to take it up just to stick two fingers up to this ruddy nonsense ~ perhaps I'll just let a big fart go when they walk through the front door instead! Coppers working as bus conductors, firemen scared of smoke....................the world's gone friggin' mad!

Your only a decade late mate! FFS have you been hiding under a pillow or something, it ain`t the fire men who are at fault here it`s the bloody lefties again! The firemen won`t be happy about this either so please don`t bust a massive one before they come around, just ask them their opinion on the issue, I think you`ll be pleasantly surprized that they are even more mystified than you!

Is there no end to the stream of diarrhoea that spews forth from your antipodean a*se? You don't even have the excuse that this was posted before 7am, posted as it is almost exactly 12 hours after that post you made in another thread this morning The preposterous letter posted through Merse's letterbox has no more to do with 'bloody lefties' than 'lefties' had to do with the smoking ban Hitler introduced in Germany in the 1940s. Nor, I suspect, does it have anything to do with 'the Health and Safety' (whoever they might be, it's never usually explained) or even over-cautious lawyers. Though that is often their cover. No, this letter almost certainly came from the same petty, interfering, "well-intentioned" pool of busybodies whose tradition we have to thank for, amongst other things, the Victorian temperance movement, ludicrous licencing laws and bans on a range of substances, bans which are invariably and almost exclusively enforced on the less well off sections of society. There is no left-right divide between these people; what unites them is a morbid and unquenchable desire to stop people enjoying themselves.

As soon as I read that phrase Lambeth, I didn't even bother responding as such idiocy obviously comes from reactionary, divisive fools who vote for parties like UKIP and The British National Party. "Lefty"? He wouldn't recognise one if it came up and bit him on the arse!

I've always regarded the "Millipede Bros" as being several feet to the right as it happens!

Still don't see where the Jewish bit comes in, but I'll take your word for it. As for 'what is a lefty', I would think it's probably true that the labellers have a better idea than the labelled - although I'm told it has something to do with yoghurt, sandals, knitting and living in Totnes apparently...

Not a label I would recognise in a traditional welsh mining area! They definitely don't do anything with yoghurt, wear sandals or do knitting!! ;D

No thanks ~ I've known her for over twenty years, used to live around the corner from her and drove her regularly on the 236 bus........................as long as I wasn't full up and she couldn't take up her regular spot stood besdie me giving me ear ache. I've never forgiven her for telling my ex to improve her education...................she did, and ripped me off for thousands! She's Ed Miliband's MP by the way as he lives in Stoke Newington.
