Blah Blah Blah - So because I did not post anything at the time of Camara's s signing I am not entitled to hold the view that a 35 year old who has been out all season and then had a virus to boot wouldn't be fit enough to play? I am sure I am not the only supporter who managed to come up with that conclusion (particularly as its the most rational one). I have seen Joyce and he isn't good enough and I am willing to bet that he won't get a new contract. I am entitled to question these signings - why shouldn't I be. Then of course there is DAnny Mills and latterly Macklin. If we are repeatedly signing players who are nowhere near good enough then it is a policy that should be called into question and no amount of your childish name calling and that of the bloke you are so loved up with will make any diference.

As usual you revert to type and when someone puts forward some valid points the hysterial name calling starts.

Whatever "MIAC" stands for is irrelevent really, but I maintain that those who wish to undermine and carry on their negative campaigns always use acronyms with the creditable exception of Dave Shawthe GullSays it all about their lack of integrity really doesn't it.

I know this probably qualifies me as loved up or whatever, but I have never known a season ever as a Gull where there weren't at least one or two signings that didn't work out. And I'm sure fans of every single Club in the Football League can say the same. Its a percentage game up to a point, isn't it?
We've been promoted in seasons where there were signings that didn't work out for heaven's sake. I thought the signings of Zebroski, Branston, Smith, Charnock, Rendell and O'Kane were good this season, for example. The lack of success of the ones you mention, miac, happen every season at every Club. What is your point?

Yes that is fair point. Obviously every signing at this level is going to be a bit of a gamble. I don't think we can count Zebroski because he was worth every penny of whatever we paid for him. I was referring to the nonsensical signings which have been cropping up regularly throughout the season. It seems pointless repeating the names again but there have been several signings which have just been completely baffling.

I think you should count Zebroski and for the very reasons you state.
The Macklin signing, in my view, was made at a time when Wayno's fitness was in doubt. Indeed it still is. The Manager would have had concerns as to Stevens, Thomson and Carayol's effectiveness on tough winter pitches, I have no doubt. And Macklin was someone before injury who made several starts in League 1 this season. It didn't work out. I would maintain he has got something about him, but we are unlikely to get the benefit of it. His parent Club already have and possibly will go onto having said benefit.
Danny Mills and Ashley Barnes? Forwards either injured or not performing in our existing squad. The former probably as much to do with our link to Posh that got us Rendell. And nothing was lost on this signing. Barnes has scored in the Championship this season and is known to us in terms of what he has been capable of in past performances. He's just not doing it right now. Certainly worth a punt whilst Rendell was out. Joyce - nothing lost to us in this signing.
Sam Cox. Had a shocker at Hereford by all accounts and was subsequently dropped from the X1, but what I saw of him at Barnet and Crewe was enough to make me content if he was added to the roster for next season.
I'm sure there are others, but I can't remember at the moment. Though you are right that every signing we make represents a gamble to an extent at this level.

Whatever "MIAC" stands for is irrelevent really, but I maintain that those who wish to undermine and carry on their negative campaigns always use acronyms with the creditable exception of Dave Shawthe GullSays it all about their lack of integrity really doesn't it. There is no requirement on the TFF for anyone to use their real names, it is and always has been perfectly acceptable for users on forums to simply post under a user name. It might frustrate you that you do not know who you are talking too, but every member has a right not to have to reveal who they are. What is against the ProBoards terms that everyone has agreed to, is posting members names and personal details without their consent and the forum would not have a choice and would have to remove it. Please do not try and bully members into putting their name to their user name, it simply is not done on forums. Can I also remind you about name calling, I may not agree with some members views on here and yes I might wonder if they have any agendas or whatever, but they still have the right to post their point of view as long as they do so in a Polite and responsible way. Just because they don't want to see things the same way you do does not mean you are right anyway and they are not thick just because they do not agree with your views.

I was highlighting the glaring link between those who constantly belittle the manager and the lack of clarity over just who is casting those aspersions...................or is it "coincidence" that virtually one hundred per cent of those belittlers mask their true identity? Where did I say they were "thick" and why does someone who make s a hard hitting point get labellled as "bully" in your mind?

Merse I fully agree with you and in a perfect world we would know who everyone was on here. But it is a fact people can post behind user names and unless they want to say who they are we have a choice to still debate with them or ignore them. I just don't want a situation where members won't post their views as they fear they will be bullied into reveling who they are, it can't work that way. I'm sure you posted something like can't you get it into your thick head some may feel they might want to say that to me because I continue to disagree with their views when they believe they are right and I'm wrong, but I would not be to happy if they did. Anyway keep smiling and the only way is up I think Dave

A walk from Tynemouth to Whitley Bay for me on Sunday followed by a drive up to Newbiggin-on-Sea (you can’t beat it!) passing close to Cambois on the way and getting a good view of the power station at Lynemouth. Torquay United connections with those two communities? Blimey, I must have passed you on the way! Walked off a large lunch in Cullercoats with a walk to Tynemouth along the beach. Absolutely glorious day. Unfortunately my over-riding memory of the game is the 'Waldorf and Stadler' types sat over the stairs on the right hand side trying to out offend each other and the poor young female steward who had to put up with their shit. Foul mouthed and racist old bigots and pretty close to making me give up on going to the games as I do not want to be tarred with the same brush.

I'm glad you've told me where Cambois is. I had never been able to make up my mind whether I thought Tommy Spratt was French or Belgian.

Loads of people about and the queues were too long at Crusoe's at Long Sands so I pressed on for afternoon tea amidst the traditional seaside finery of the Rendezvous cafe at Whitley Bay: www.rendezvouswhitleybay.com. The poor old Spanish City is looking a bit rough these days, isn't it? But plans are afoot...

But how do you pronounce Cambois? With a Geordie accent? Talking of your North-Eastern haunts, I've never been quite sure how to pronounce Tow Law. Is it Tow like Toe or does it rhyme with now?
