Dave - I will quite easily answer your question. We have 53 points - that is why we are not challenging for promotion.

Yes I do know that miac and as you will know we are now safe and have retained our league status, something I'm sure you claimed would not happen as Buckle was only taking the club back to the BSP. My comment was only made as we are showing promotion form and have been for a number of games now, if only we had played that way for most of the season as then we would have been celebrating promotion and not just being safe.

We can still finish mid-table with an extra six points to play for, we would be on 59 points and looking very solid! Dave your spot on, the form we have shown over the last month and a bit is easily promotion form, it`s a shame it took the team as long as it did to find their way in this league, if we had gelled earlier we would have deffo been well up there! The script at the begining of the season was survival therefore job done!

We are top of the form table for the last six games with 16 points, scoring the most (13) and conceding the least (1). Somehow, we have gone from relegation fodder to promotion like form without that much change of personal. I thought the worst match at home this season was against Grimsby with in that match, Todd, Williams, Hargreaves and Stevens now being replaced by Branston or Charnock, Mansell, Zebroski and Carayol i.e. only two new players brought in. A lot of the change seems to be in midfield particularly with more of a threat and security on the wings. However, improvement in many of our BSP players together with some confidence seems to have wrought the change.
