After an amazing month of results where we beat teams we really were expected not to beat, we have now secured our league status for next season with three games to go.
We sure would not have wanted to have to go into our last game of the season needing to get a result to stay up, so now as we are safe we can all relax and enjoy the games that are left.
It was important to keep the same side over the last month and now the job is done and the only thing on offer is a few places higher up the table, I would not be surprised to see Bucks start with a few of the players who have only been making the bench lately.
O'Kane is one such player I think Bucks might start with along with Thompson and it would also be good a good opportunity to give Charnock a game.
I'm sure Bucks will want the team to keep this good run going and if possible move a bit further up the table, but there are a few players who might just need to have a rest for this game.
I hope the fans give the team and Paul Buckle a very big cheer when they come out at the start of the game, they all came good when it really mattered and for that they deserve our thanks and praise.

I'm currently "working" on the missus, persuading her that what the family needs is a weekend by the sea. And where better than the English Riviera. What's that you say? There's a home game? Bound to be a party atmosphere after securing League 2 status? Sounds like a good trip out, the kids would love that...
90% certain i will make the Macc game (barring any unfortunate circumstances), and i'm really looking forward to it. It'll be my 1st trip to Plainmoor this season, with our summer hols booked in at Brixham for the start of next season (i'm getting my trip in early!).
I for one will be giving both the team and PB huge cheers. I think what has been achieved this season by all concerned is amazing. It's a real shame that certain "supporters" have been getting on their backs during the course of the season, but it's great to see that all their dark desires went tits-up.
Loving it big style at the moment, with some excellent results, especially in the past 5 games. And it's even better at work after a game when work colleagues (it's surprising how many people now look out for the scores due to me) are making positive comments.
Walking on air. Next season, mid-table mediocrity and a season devoid of heart stopping excitement/scares...? Could we handle that??

You keep working on her wigstongull68 and come and spend a nice weekend here in the Bay. if you do come and go on the popside you may just find me there. I have done my time for the TFF members stuck over in that enclosure we are safe now and there is no reason for me not to return to where I belong.

So coming into this game: A +5 goal difference. Not bottom-of-the-league form.
Northampton in eleventh place, and only three points off the play-off zone, are the first team to better that.
Our goals scored ratio of 1.40 goals per game is only beaten by seven other teams whilst our goals conceded at 1.28 per game makes us only the 10th worst ranked team defensively in the league. Indeed our 'goal-supremacy' at +0.12 (1.40 minus 1.28) puts us in ninth place in the league with only eight other teams bettering that stat.
Maybe the timing of the goal-fairy hasn't been on our side this season. We've scored some goals when they weren't really needed and conceded few goals, but at the most inopportune times?
Which ever way, it surely bodes well for the future.

My/our plan is to travel most of the way down on friday after school, stopping over at a premier inn, then get an early start next morning into the bay. That way we can all get time for the "normal" seasidey things before travelling back sunday lunchtime-ish. My only problem is that im struggling to find accommodation for saturday night in Torquay, either being full, two-nights-bookings only or their bloody expensive. Can anyone recommend a decentish B+B that will put up with 2 adults and 2 well behaved kids? Any assistance gratefully accepted.
That aside, unfortunately, due to my wifes claustraphobia-like condition, we will be sitting in our "usual" stand to the left of the tunnel (strangely enough, it's where i've been on every visit) making sure she gets an aisle-end seat. Bless her.

When ever we come to Torquay, we stay at the premier inn(location, location, location). Not sure of your budget but I think £72 for a family room is a great price. But not sure of availabilty.

First port of call as usual, but too short notice obviously, it's booked up. Just like the one in Paignton. Maybe Macc are bringing loadsa fans.... Thanks for the attempt though. If all goes well, may see you at Bury as I plan to make the trip there as well.

Good luck in finding a hotel then. I guess its one of those away games most teams want this time of the season playing Torquay. See you at Bury

I believe this weekend in Torbay we have a National Young Farmers event taking place the whole weekend, I expect we are talking thousands here and I expect it would be very difficult to find any accommodation in the Bay.

Their form in the last 6 games is W4 D2 L0. Better than ours?
I would like to see some of the following now over the course of the next 3 games:-
O'Kane get a start. Wroe rested/Rendell rested. Rowe-Turner tried again to see whether he is worth retaining. Halpin featuring. Stevens featuring. Charnock to slot in next to Ellis. Very likely, of course. Ellis, Carayol and Nicholson to accept deals - 2 years, 2 years and 1 year respectively. Branston to become Pope and Rendell to call Barry Fry an arse. Wins
There that'll do for now.
1-1

Cant make wholesale changes as although we are both safe we want to keep the momentum going to the end of the season.
Poke
Nicholson Charnock Ellis Smith
Carayol Wroe Mansell Okane
Zebroski Benyon
SUBS: Goalie, Robertson, Rendell, Rowe-Turner,Stevens, T. Thompson, Halpin
Get Smith and Okane in for a couple of games. May well need Smiths pace when Notts come here so a couple of games will do him good.

Have you found anywhere or has the thought of mixing with all those farmers put you off? ;D My offer of a loan of a tent and used sleeping bags is still on!!!

Update is, the trip is down the pan! A combination of finding accommodation and spiralling costs has put paid to the wifes interest.
Thanks for the offer of the tent, methinks if i'd pushed the weekend idea any more i would have needed it for sleeping in the back garden.
Have to console myself with the knowledge that my trip up to Bury is on. So Longy, if you fancy one last away trip this season let me know.
