2-2, not a bad result. Sounded like it could have gone either way at the end.
Well done to the lads and the supporters who made the trip to Vale Park.
Darlington, Grimsby and Lincoln all lost tonight.

Why do we persist in playing Zeb in midfield? I'm sure someone must have a spreadsheet to prove my theory but i think Zeb scored far more for us from striker than midfield as he regularly got moved upfront from midfield late on and then scored.

Another game were the players worked very hard, battled all over the pitch and played some good football in very poor weather conditions, much like it was at home in our last game.
We had plenty of chances to win the game and while we did well to come back from a goal behind, we then took the lead and it then disappoints we could not hold on to it in the end.
Its a point and one that could be important later in the season, but we all know just getting one point at a time is never going to see us climb the table to the place of safety that will make us all feel so much better.
The players showed they put Saturdays disappointment behind them and we know the team spirit is there, so it must only be a matter of time before the players get the reward their effort fully deserves.

FT 2-2
Head says it's a good point
Heart says.....i'm hacked off with all these draws and still being only 3 points clear of the dross below us (they can't stay dross for the entire season??)
We're playing well but missing too many chances and not defending well enough again.
Its great to be back in the league, of course..........but this season is all a bit...
...AAArrrrrrrggggghhhhhhh

Justin having victory snatched away again after another good performance is always going to hurt a little and after two good seasons, I suppose this one is not nearly as good, but as you say we are back in the league and its far better then being in the BSP.
I firmly believe its only a matter of time before we move up the table and we do have what looks more winnable game coming up.
We won't be going back down, but we will move to safety and can then look forward to a better next season in our second season back in the league.

Before tonight I would have said cheltenham but they scored 5 tonight.

Lincoln, Cheltenham and Macclesfield all directly above and within 3 points (2 of these teams have worse Goal Differences). Grimsby 3 points directly below (with significantly worse Goal Difference). It could be a lot worse for us. One good win and we jump up potentially 2/3 places if the other teams dont draw or win. Its taking a lot for granted for these permutations at this time of the season but if it does happen in the not too distant future it would make us all feel much better I am sure.

HOOF..............................
Great Socialist ideals to spend most of the game passing to the opposition but when we played football we were by far the better side.

Aussie - looks like you were wrong - just like you were about the ref on Saturday!!! Not surprised Thompson has moved back to the bench. We missed the bite and know-how of Hargreaves on Saturday - as well as his scoring threat. You have your opinions and I`ll have mine thank you very much, or must everyone agree with the all knowing all seeing all hearing perfect person that is ohtobe? If you thought the Ref was brilliant then you can believe that, I on the other hand like many others( just in case you hadn`t noticed ) thought the bloke was piss poor, but hey you must be right! I do hope I was patronizing enough for you!!!

Can we have the next fixture thread put up please Dave? Will do it now just for you Aussie, I can bring you some breaking news just in at the forum Aussie mate. Chris Hargreaves has just agreed to do an advert for the TV, this has come about after trying the product and being so amazed by the results. After coming home from a training session at the Gull's racecourse pitch, he discovered he was suffering the worst man flu known to man. He was soon on the phone to his boss Paul Buckle informing him that he would not be fit to play the following nights game against Port Vale. He then let his good friend Aussie know. Chris then phoned his mum to tell her the news, she told him she knew what would get him back to good health and then he could play in the Port Vale game. So Chris send his dear wife to the chemists and she got just what Chris Hargreaves mum had said would get him well again in record time. It worked a treat and Chris did play in the Port Vale game was got straight on the phone to the manufacturers, singing the praise of this wonder cure for man flu. They checked out his picture on the club web site and felt he looked so like Tarzan that he would be the perfect person the feature in their new ad. Look out for it on your TV soon Aussie PS need to go and do some work, will put the thread up when I get home.

A bit off the hoof but i read a similar story regarding sir stan matthews.
They had an important cup match coming up against west Ham I think. Sir Stan said he had a cold and was dodgy. In sort the manager got him some pills. Stan played a blinder and Stoke won. stan was buzzing he went home and went on a run. He was later seen in the early hours of the morning sweaping up leaves still buzzing. Good job they hadn`t got drug testing in those days or an icon of yesteryear would potentially have been de throned.
Back on to the subject
Cheltenham This will be an extremely difficult game & I`d be very surprised if we get all 3 pts. The law of averages is now stacked very much against us. what are the chances of beating them 3 times? It doesn`t normally happen, sooner or later they will get a result. I hope its later.

Very amusing Dave, but if he took night nurse and got drug tested he would fail, there are certain off the shelf medicines that players cannot take because of what they contain, sudoephedrine or equivalent ( not sure of it`s correct spelling ) is a pharmaceutical speed, so it doesn`t keep you awake all night, they put other drugs in it that make you drowsy, read the box it says do not operate machinery or drive whilst taking this medication, now I wonder why they would print such a thing on a box of stuff! Ever read on a box of medicine "Does not make you drowsy" I wonder why that would be, check out the contents and you will see that it is sudoephedrine or equivalent. They use codeine or equivalent to counter act the speed so that it clears up congestion as well as lets you sleep, one of the side effects is dizziness and disorientation. That`s why they have Day Nurse and Night Nurse, a lot of cough mixtures contain these drugs so players have to be vary careful as to what they take for illness nowadays or they end up labeled as drug cheats and get banned for simply trying to shift a cold! So all that effort in your post was just a tiny bit wasted, although I do appreciate the effort you put in because it could have actually been funny! ;D
