stewart when it went to seven, I thought it was utter madness, I know some felt it would give the manager more options, but lets face it at this time and with the players who will make up the bench, only two or three would be considered good enough to play in the game. It should be set at four, as you say that would give cover for the main positions, without to many others getting splinters in their bums. Sorry, Dave, I've modified and added a bit more while you were replying to what I said originally.

I suppose the counter to that argument is that last year we didn't have a goal keeper on the bench and ended up being treated to a master class from Sills (Feed the Sills and he will Save! ;D) Also substitutions can change a match with the last outing being an example of changing the formation from 4-3-3 which frankly was a disaster! Even going back to the Exeter play off match, the introduction of Carlisle unfortunately turned the match on its head! In respect of injuries, I think both Charnock and Hargreaves were injured in the first half earlier this season and at least we could replace them like for like! I haven't got a problem with seven substitutes as surely it is better to be bench warming than watching from the stands! An injury could mean that a certain player may get to play 80 minutes when he might have been sitting in the stands otherwise! Surely finance will dictate that more substitutes won't necessarily equate to larger squads?

Actually, I would say the odds favour us getting a result today:
Our away goals scored per game this season stands at 1.5 which puts us in the top seven of the league and we've only failed to score in 17% of the games played, the problem has been in the defence where we've conceded an average of 2.17 goals per away game and only kept a clean sheet in 17% of these games. The last three away games in the league we've score four goals but conceded six.
BUT...
Lincoln have the 21st worst home record for goal scoring at 0.83 goals per game and have failed to score in 50% of their home matches, whereas they have the 14th worse defence in the league at home, going on goals conceded, with an average of 1.17 per game with 50% of their home games having been clean sheets.
In their last three home games they've only scored one goal but conceded five.
This would suggest that if we can keep our run of scoring going and find the net there is a fair chance that we'll come away with a draw, if not the win.

Lincoln have just signed two players that is supposed to help them score and rectify their current drought issue!

Its getting closer to kick-off time and with no new players at the club, Bucks will have to rely on the player already here to get a result from this game.
I'm sure we will get some good match reports later tonight and was pleased to read what loneatongull wrote about the great friendship he has formed with Teddgull and Wigstongull, thanks to the TFF, who will be with him at todays game.
I hope Darryl will be able to send some match pictures over later as well and feel another great TFF match thread in the making, all we need to make it just perfect is a much needed win.

I see you`ve backed Lincoln to win in the competitions room! Probably the only time ever hoped you are wrong!

HE'S LEFT OUT MARK ELLIS.
Any remaining credibility this man had has now gone as far as I am concerned.

We do not know if Ellis is 100% fit, he may have picked up an injury during the warm up. lets wait and see how the game goes. Poke mansell Robertson Charnock Nicholson Carlisle Wroe Hargreaves Stevens Thompson Sills Ellis is on the bench and we only have six subs in total.

If he has picked up an injury, then what is the point of having him on the bench if Todd is already there ? This smacks of another of the manager's arrogant disciplinarian spats.

One reason would be that without him on the bench we would only have five and that really would not look to good, as I said it might be just a slight strain or something and its not worth risking starting him.
You may be correct in what you say and if so then that would be disappointing as Ellis has been playing very well for us, at the end of the day, its the result that really matters and if we give away a soft goal that costs up the match, then will be the time to ask the questions why Ellis has not started.
