I will do a days out today as Sunday this week is all about the play-off final and nothing else.
Lands end a place where you really are at the end of England, but is it the most southerly part of England? Or is that the Lizard? Not to sure myself but if you enjoy coastal walking and then is the place for you. You night be forgiven for thinking in some parts of your walk that you were on the moon, well that’s what I kidded myself I was doing.
I went there first not long after I got married to hell wife, she had family who lived in Penzance and all locals get a free pass to Lands end and all its attractions. Not sure if that is still the case today, but we sure made good use of the pass.
So it was only a matter of time before I wanted to do go there again, only this time with the joy and real love of my life dear Carol. Days out with her will always be happy and full of fun, how I remember so well the moaning and fuss caused on my first time there, with a person who just never seemed to want to be happy or enjoy anything in life.
Well going with Carol was going to be a real treat and on the way down I talked about the attractions we would be able to enjoy. One thing from my first time I was really looking forward to doing again was The Last Labyrinth.
One thing I failed to take into consideration was that Carol and I were there nearly 25 years after I first went there, what was something that all those years ago seemed pure magic and so very clever, seemed old and well past its sell by date.
I think it was just on my first visit technology was something new and The Last Labyrinth was like nothing I had ever experienced before. All these years later and it really had not moved with the times, everything was as I remembered it, only now it had no magic.
You can buy a ticket to cover all the attraction there and they list Greeb farm and we walked to it only to find people unhappy nearby as there was a further charge to get in.
Still we were not too bothered about not seeing the farm animals and really enjoyed walking around the cliffs. It can be as cheap or as expensive as you want it to be at lands End, just pay to park and enjoy the walks it will not cost much and the only real cost will be getting there.
With a family in tow who may want to do all the attractions it might just be an expensive day out, but you only live once you know, and you can’t put a price on a great day out that hopefully will give you lasting memories.
Nearly forgot to add one more thing, it was always the case you could stand by the famous sign post and have your picture taken. Sadly it is now fenced off and you have to go and pay to have your photo taken by the post, I do feel this should not happen as it should there for all to enjoy as it once was.
