Powderham Castle, not really a castle, but a fortified Manor House, has a great chapel and the tour of the castle is very interesting as there are secret doorways you get taken through.
Their very old and famous tortoise died a few years ago and they also stopped the Medial Jousting Show using their grounds a few years ago. That show moved to a field not far along the Dawlish Warren Road from Teignmouth. I do have some shots for that I will put up one day. I think it was only there for the one season and have not seen it around for three years now, I wonder where it went.
Stuart thanks for you great shots, but you can take the merse flack in the morning mate ;D

The tour was fantastic but unfortunately you were not allowed to take any pics. the old boy who guided us was brilliant and very patient with the little ones. sorry uncle Merse to fill the last so many posts with pics or slow your refresh down but somebody had to liven up this very slow week  |

very rare but i bet I still don't win poster of the week That bloomin' Mountain Joseph has a lot to answer for, making us wait so long for his report and then expecting to get all the sheep to vote for him....there's nothing like having chance to watch all the replays before making your statements look a lot more interesting than those who tried their best to get a quick report in.....sarcasm rules ok! |
