There was a very good reason why I was so confident that we would win todays game against Burton. I did not want to say why this week on the forum, but the real reason was I knew our very special and Lucky mascot Lewis was going to be at todays game. Thats two wins out of two now Lewis, so get to all the games you can young man. As I knew Lewis and Grahame were going to be at Plainmoor, I decided it would be great to present Lewis his own special drawing that Crooky was doing for him. It was also a good opportunity to give Lewis the chance to present Stuartb with his signed shirt he won. Crooky came down for the game today and I can't thank this wonderful man enough, having problems getting his drawing to the standard he wanted, he stayed up well past midnight last night to get it right. It was touch and go if it would be done and I did say to him on Saturday that it would be just fine if we had to wait a bit longer. Not only did he do a fantastic job and put it in a brilliant frame, he did a slightly smaller one framed as well for Lewis's grandparents. I also presented Lewis with a cq for £195(this is explained on another thread) sorry for my smiling mugshot, that Stuartb took it and nagged me to smile, now you may see why I prefer not too. Crooky presenting the picture to Lewis Stuartb receiving his signed shirt from Lewis Dave R handing over the cq to Lewis A copy of Crookys great drawing of Lewis.

I forgot to add that Crooky also gave Lewis 8 or 10 other drawings he has done of Arsenal player as he knew Lewis was also an Arsenal fan, I showed Lewis them one by one and he called out all the players names.
I would expect Crooky has copies of them all and maybe he will kindly send me them and I will add them to this thread.

We just want to say thank you to everyone for making Lewis a very happy boy today! The match ended with a win for our heroes and the much coveted play-off place. We hope that they go on now to the final and win back their rightful place in the Football League.
Lew absolutely loves his drawing. Fantastic likeness we all think! Mum was really chuffed too as was dad! I am certain Lewis's Gran and Grandad will be just as thrilled with this masterpiece.
It was great to meet the famous artist himself, Crooky, and the additional drawings of Lewis's other Heroes at Arsenal may well adorn his bedroom wall too if we can find room. Crooky told me that he is also a big fan of both Torquay and Arsenal. Well done mate; only following the best!!
Lewis is really looking forward to his drum lessons which we hope will start the week after next. Thank you all for your incredible generosity. Stuart, enjoy your shirt mate, and get it framed in a well pad-locked frame before someone else tries to prise it from your grasp again!
Thanks again Dave for making all this happen! You are a real gem!

Sally was going to be present at our presentation, but I could see that she was so busy having to do the man of the match awards etc and I also had to take into consideration the need not to keep Lewis having to hang around and have too long an tiering day, that I decided it was best to get on and get them done.
I emailed Sally the pictures and she has sent the following reply, I just wished we had waited a bit longer, still we had to do what was thought best at the time.
Hi Dave What a terrific day yesterday was indeed. After I had made the man of the match presentations I did actually try to find you, I managed to grab Chris Todd and brought him with me to try and do the presentations, but unfortunately we had missed you. I checked in the end executive box & the restaurant and scanned the Gulls Nest for you but I think had gone already. The pictures look great, it is fantastic what you have done for Lewis - well done to the TFF!
Fingers crossed for the play offs!!! See you soon Kind regards Sally Eagling Commercial Manager Torquay United FC
