I must confess I love another, sorry Carol but this girl Is really pretty and tells me how much she loves me. Well she is a bird but one that has been in my life since she was just a baby and is now nine years old, still a baby really as she could live to be over 80 years old. Such a shame the family are fighting who will get her when I'm dead sorry family I'm still alive, do you mind. My baby is a Double Yellow Crowned Amazon Parrot, she has not been taken from any rain forest, in fact she is very much a Brit. Captive breed in this country and was hand reared, she is not only a good talker, but so very loving. She just loves binging tickled and also loves to groom my eyebrows, she is very gentle, but has in the past bite me hard. Its only when she has been tired or wanted to be left alone, just need to read her mood, but such bites are very rare indeed. She was clipped when I got her, but I have let her grow her full flight feathers, so she can fly around the house. You may not believe this, but I swear its true, she is fully house trained. If she is on your shoulder watching TV(she loves football) and needs to do her business, she flies back into her cage, does it, then flies back again.

Well I'd have trained her to shite on the telly every time Argyle came on!

Well I'd have trained her to shite on the telly every time Argyle came on! So speaks a child of the 1960s lowering the tone of this thread. In my experience the South Devon variety never grew up. Anyway let me be the first to admire these lovely pictures. Absolutely superb, Dave. And also, I'm afraid, recall the words of that wonderful ditty of yesteryear. You know...the one that features references to "wings of a sparrow" and "Home Park"... Is that a humming sound from N7? I once taught it to a group of teenage Swedish language students. They promptly disgraced me by singing it in unison at the Model Village the next day. Ho - ho!

Dave, she's pretty damn gorgeous!! Swapped any tips with mike B? ;D Well yes I did on two different occasions mate. The first was in the downstairs room of the Noah's Ark, many years ago and before it was made into the smart place it is today. I saw an advert for a bird club and went to a meeting, old Mike was there as he was the chairman of the club and we had a good old natter. I did not join, as few there were parrot people, mostly the aviary type. The other time was up at Bristol Rovers, Ant used to work for Hill House Hammond, who were the sponsors of Rovers ground. Their box was next to the away teams directors box. Ant always made sure both him and I got to be in the Hill House box, when we played the Rovers. What a great day out it used to be, all free and treated wonderfully. Your own special room, with an ex pro to look after you all, fridge full of drinks and a great meal provided, then out the patio type door into your seats to watch the game. So I got to have a great chat with Mike up there, mind you on another time up there, he did not go and the best I got was a chat with Merv Benny in the toilet

"bugger, I thought this was the khazi...................I must have pissed in the tea room next door" ' don't worry mate, easily done' " it was the pineapple chunks in the bowl that threw me................I do get confused these days"

Even on a picture Cleo still scares the shit out of me Dave Yes I know Rolf and that is why the poor bird has to stay in her cage when you come over to stay I know you hate her as much as I know you hate the Germans, but I'm going to help you get over both of these hates. I have searched worldwide and have now found you the perfect Christmas present and It will be flying over to you soon. Its a German speaking parrot, well its stuffed really and you have to squeeze its beak to get it to talk. It has legs that bend,so you can get it to sit on your shoulder, after walking around with it for a few months, you won't notice the next time you are here, when Cleo lands on you, only please don't squeeze her beak, she may just object with a nice bite that could if she wants, take your finger off.

Nice pictures Dave! Did you buy Cleo from a bloke who lives in Devon but originates from Blackpool?
