A photo taken by Vic Sandercock and used by the Herald Express nearly twenty years ago to show the final days of Lummaton Quarry.
Barton Downs - with the football pitches, Acorn centre and scout hut - is off to the left; Watcombe is to the right; Teignmouth Road at the foot of the picture.
In the top left - above Barton Hill Road, the primary school and St Martin's church - you'll see how the old tip has been levelled off for the extension of Beechfield Avenue and the building of hundreds of new houses.
