I've got the feeling John Terry will be history as far as playing for England is concerned once this World Cup is done and dusted. His unprofessionalism is growing by the week and his latest "performance" at that press conference is indicative that he doesn't have a lot of intelligence really and a bloody liability for the manager to carry. Let's face it, the manager has come out and said that when he has the chance to air his views at team meetings he says nothing yet as soon as the press are in front of him he comes out with veiled criticism like he did yesterday. About as trustworthy to a fellow team member as one who would try it on with your missus......................oh yeah, we knew that anyway didn't we. In England's greater interest the FA MUST back the manager, just as a club chairman must back his manager; in whatever he has to do to get this squad justifying their selection.....................it's the first tournament that Dom Fabio has taken them too and he must be learning a lot of home truths about certain characters. What do others think?

He probably feels that Capello never should have stripped him of the Captaincy in the first place. Gerrard looks absolutely lost as Captain in my opinion.
I think I would make quite a few changes to side after the last game. There are some, like Lampard, who deserve no more chances. Lennon has looked lost, SWP is a trier but he lacks quality.
So where do we go from here? Italia 90. We go three at the back. Two attacking wing backs 3 in centre midfield and two up front.
James in goal.
Back three of Dawson, Upson, and Terry
Wing backs Ashley Cole, and Glenn Johnson
Midfield trio of Barry, Milner (or Carrick) and Gerrard in an slightly freer role
Up front 2 from Rooney, Crouch and Defoe. Rooney if you wanted a slightly withdrawn second striker.
Something like that or a vastly changed 4-4-2. Dawson and Terry at centre half, Rooney on the left wing, Milner on the right, Barry and Gerrard in midfield with Crouch and Defoe up front.

i dont actually think capello has done a lot wrong, the one big mistake he has made though is put trust in a group he thought he could trust but has now realised they have dropped him in it.I would persevere with him as i reckon the majority of this crop will be finished internationally after the worldcup. He has a good track record and will sort it out,i cringed when terry gave that interview,he is one sneaky individual but has no brains,he is washed up after this world cup.Time to sweep with a new brush, lets hope this money, laden crop can do the business on wednesday, but i have serious doubts, when the chips are down they will show their true colours

Someone also tell me how Portugal are ranked 3rd in the World? Beating North Korea 7-0 might have something to do with it. According to Kim Jong-Il the wonderful Republic of north Korea thrashed the terrible capitalist Portugal 7-0 on the way to winning the world cup.

What do others think? Like you, I think he is deceitful and a coward. It also does look as if he is smarting after being dropped as Captain, which is disrespectful to his present Captain, his Manager's decisions and indicative of a self belief that has him as beyond reproach. He is a prize turd.

John Terry did not want to miss out playing in the world cup and for that reason alone never said very much when he lost the captaincy due to what he got up to. I would expect he may well have felt he should not have had the captaincy taken off him as it was only related to his own personal life, but if he felt that he would have been wrong as not only did his actions cost the team a players who I’m sure Capello would have taken to the world cup, he also would have lost respect from some the other players.
I also expect he may well be thinking if he had been the captain for the first two games, we would not need to win the third game to stay in the world cup. I believe he got together a few other players who were also going to speak out at the meeting that took place, only he found in the end he was standing alone.
He was so wrong to say what he did to the press, if it was not for the fact we can’t afford not to play him due to having no other real option at the back, I’m sure he would not be picked for Wednesdays game. I bet Paul Buckle would have not even put a player on the bench let alone start him, if he had gone to the press like John Terry did.
If Capello is still the England manager when OUR world cup is over, I would expect he won’t be ever picking Terry again, I say if as I heard on the radio today that the FA expect Capello to resign form the job if we don’t make it to the next stage.
It was not made clear if that is what Capello would do himself, or if that was the wish of the FA, but Wednesday could be the very last game Capello was in charge.
I listened to the interview he gave today and sorry while he may be a good coach, I still feel the job requires an English man to do it and I we could all name one or two who really would be able to give that halftime team talk that really would see the players giving far more than we have seen in the first two games so far.

Very unprofessional i agree but this was always the danger when Capello neither backed Terry nor sacked him but only stripped him of the captaincy.
Terry must be still be fuming with the manager who passed his armband to a player once banned for eight months and fined £50000 by the Football Association. It was never going to take much for him to vent his anger and regrettably that's what he has done.
Split in the camp? If when asked about Joe Cole making the starting line up he said "No chance I think he's crap" what would everyone made of that I wonder?

I'm sorry, you're way off the mark again over Capello.................monitor England's performances in qualifying and he must have given loads of "sort it out" half time talks. However good a record your England manager had as a club manager, he will always have to go to his first ever European or World Championship tournament and he will always learn more about his players there than he ever knew before. Those that he thought he could rely on might prove unreliable, those that he maybe harboured some reservations over might emerge as nailed on certainties for the next tournament. To expect Dom Fabio "to resign" if the players let him down is ludicrous and indicative of the short sighted and introverted nature of our football media and public at large. Who is the English manager who is the most successfull * anyway, and does he have any regular top European club management experience, does he have any experience of international management; has he ever managed a country through a major global tournament? The answer to those last three questions is NO, NO; and NO again! If we in this country want an England team that will more readily gell during an international tournament, then the FA need to appoint their next manager from one of those who has already done so with either one or two other nations..................whether he be French, Dutch, German or whatever. Theb experience he brings to the job is the number one quality and the nationality of the best candidate is irrelevant. Me? I'm perfectly happy with Fabio Capello.....................they don't come any better than him, and after this World Cup he will have one under his belt so to speak. and if you think that John Terry has difficulty understanding Italian Capello's English, then ask yourself the nationalities of his last 5 Chelsea managers! * Mind you, Roy Hodgson has the best CV of all the English managers and he has managed Switzerland. The players would understand his English, but whether he would comprehend some of their unprofessionalism is another question!

Perhaps Terry was included in the squad so that the rest of the players wouldn't be worried what he was up to whilst they were away!

Merse the real test of how good he is as the manager of the England team comes on Wednesday, just as I said we would see how good a manager Paul Buckle was when the chips were down and results had to be turned around if we were to say in league two, I’m saying now for Capello its about him getting a better performance out of the players, getting the tactics and substitutions spot on and yes the right result.
If we win on Wednesday then everyone will be happy, if we lose you know his head will be called for as at the end of the day its not just how well we may have qualified, its all about how well we do in the world cup itself.

So you believe that Terry thought he could trust his mates not to let him down, but they stabbed him in the back? That would be awful, wouldn't it?

Merse the real test of how good he is as the manager of the England team comes on Wednesday, You talk of Capello as if he some novice, let me remind you of his unsurpassed achievements in the game as a manager: He has won the domestic championship of every club he has ever managed. In his first five seasons as a manager, he won 4 Serie A titles with AC Milan, as well as the European Champions title. Moving to Real Madrid he won the Sapnish title in his one and only season. Returning to Italy, he then won the Italian title with AS Roma. He then won two more Italian titles with Juventus and a further Spanish title on returning to Real Madrid for another singular season. Although the two Juve title were later revoked because of the club's corrupt activities, he was never implicated in that so in effect he has been a Champion Manager for nine of his seventeen top division seasons. He is tri-lingual, and worked with players of many different nationalities. When he moved to Spain he learned Spanish, when he came to England he learned English. To now ask "how good he is as the manager of the England team " is disrespectful and rather silly in my opinion. The more pertinent observation would be "how good are these players as the England squad"As a player himself he played for Italy on 32 occasions and won 4 Serie A titles with Juventus (3) and AC Milan (1) ~ you won't get a better manager to manage at the highest level. You won't get a better manager with the experience of not only winning but the extreme professionalism of the level of top Italian club football. Many of these players are in their last tournament for us anyway, why throw out the manager along with them? Changing managers after two years is both futile and counter productive; and I don't care if YOU struggle to understand his accent ~ he might well struggle to understand yours ~ he knows what he is talking about and he knows what he is seeing and learning of those players. They know and understand perfectly well what he demands and what they have to do to fulfill those demands..................if they didn't he wouldn't have taken them along. Leave the guy alone to do the job required and the job required in the future will only be defined once this World Cup is done and dusted.
