Elved Evans bagged six goals in twelve appearances before returning to Cardiff, which begs a question.
I once read in one of those "Football firsts" type books that the loan system only started in the 1960s and that John Docker was the first ever loan player when he joined us in 1967.
That's strange beacause we had "loans"" before that - Evans being one and Don Mills another.
I wonder if these were effectively full transfers with a "gentlemen's agreement" to transfer back?
The centenary history says that in 1954 we fell out with Cardiff (ending our special relationship) and Chairman George Gillin resigned when we requested a fee for transferring Harry Parfitt back to Cardiff.
