I'm current on my travels again but I thought that I'd post today's ground visit on here. This is the Stadion Ljudski Vrt in the northern Slovenian city of Maribor and is the home of 6 time Slovenian Champions NK Maribor. It's also currently the home to the Slovenian national team as one venue in Ljubljana is being renovated and a new stadium is being built. I was also lucky enough to watch NK Maribor train on the pitch next to the stadium. The Stadium holds 12,435 fans. There can't be many grounds with a capacity using the first five numbers. Not including 0. First up a Mural outside the ground. Followed by a couple of the training pitch.

What a beautiful little stadium and so representaive of small town/provincial European communities who take great pride in creating something unique, iconic and useful for their population who then take great civic pride in it in a way that the folk of Colchester, Shrewsbury or Morecambe could never dream of. The nearest to that ethos currently on view in this country, I would venture; would be the new stadium in Chesterfield ~ but then, when you take into account the great social heritage of football in that town and indeed in that part of England; it's maybe not such a surprise.

Many thanks Chris for doing this thread from over there, (does that make sense ;D) what a great looking ground and looking at the pictures I would say if the stands were just a bit closer to the pitch, that ground would fit into the foot print taken up by our ground.
I know we are having a new stand that will greatly improve the whole appearance up at Plainmoor, but I would love one day to have a ground like that for TUFC fans.
