Sadly as of a few days ago Claremont Road is CLOSED for good.....
This is from the hendon FC website....
The Board of the Ryman League has been working with Hendon Football Club Limited and representatives of the Hendon FC Supporters Trust over the last two months to enable a continuation of the Club. The Board was disappointed this week to receive a letter from a Director of the Company closing the ground with immediate effect and explaining the reasons behind the decision. The Company wishes to transfer its membership of the League to the Supporters Trust but the League is not able to deal with that until the Company has satisfied The Football Association and the League itself in relation to the transfer of membership. The Board wishes to enable the Club to continue to play football while negotiations are ongoing; to that end the Board will allow Hendon FC Limited to play its home matches on suitable alternative grounds until the end of the current season. The League requires the Company to deposit with the League within 7 days a sum of £10,000 as a bond to be held against any indebtedness of the Company to the League. The League will charge the Company under League Rule for failing to keep its ground in good playing condition and amenities in good working order throughout the Playing Season. The Board expect the Company to resolve the transfer of membership by the end of the current season; otherwise the Company’s continuing membership of the League may be in doubt.
Anyone groundhopper seeking this ground has missed oput. They are gonna make an annnouncemembt as to where they wiill play for the rest of the season asap

Sadly as of a few days ago Claremont Road is CLOSED for good..... You just beat me to it Brett. Sadly that's another local ground to me where I had the option of popping along five minutes to kick off and be able to watch pretty good quality semi pro football...................good social club at Claremont Road too with a particularly "Irish" culture! The ground had become a dump though as the surviving family of the late owner (Ivor Arbiter) didn't hold the same altruistic values of Hendon FC, their culture and heritage as he did. The ground has been sold for development (to build houses on) and Hendon will probably play most of their games at Wembley FC's Vale Farm or Kingsbury Town's little ground by the Welsh Harp reservoir. There's a former football ground in Huddlestone Road N7 (nearest tube: Tufnell Park) near my home where Tufnell Park FC once played. They're now called Harringey Borough and play at White Hart Lane N17 (the real one!) near to the Spurs Ground of the same name. The pitch is still excellently maintained at Huddlestone Road, but the stands have been demolished and replaced by a sports hall and pavilion, and the facilities are used extensively by Islington Schools. Celebrities Suggs and Charlie Higson live nearby.
