Denied a plum tie with Swansea through losing a replay.
There's a thought for a thread - teams we were draw against as an "either or" due to drawn games or postponements but never got to play.
It was West Ham again after we'd beaten Farnborough, wasn't it?

Certainly was (or wasn't as the case turned out) I was sitting next to Billy Bonds who was scouting the game with Ronnie Boyce for The Hammers and spoke to them at halftime. I remember Bonzo saying he would much rather play Torquay than "A side who didn't seem to know what they were doing themselves let alone for us to understand them"They did for us though, didn't they!  |

It was West Ham again after we'd beaten Farnborough, wasn't it? Newcastle United away in the 3rd round in 1969 after a 0-0 draw at Reading. Supporters helped to clear snow from the Plainmoor pitch so that the replay could go ahead but we lost 2-1. We did eventually play Newcastle away in the 3rd round ten years later and lost 3-1. |
