Only rain can save you in this test mate, we'll declare after 550 tomorrow after lunch, then skittle you out and send you in for a follow on winning convincingly. If that wicket dries out then the game rested in the toss of the coin from the outset! Could end in a draw!

The aussies were always going to react after the first test and winning the toss on a flat pitch was the ideal opportunity to do this. Our first innings is now key....

On a slightly more serious note, Australia are only where they are because 2 men played exceptionally well. The rest of the side did nothing. Ben Stokes with his current 38 has already outbatted all but 3 of the Aussie side.
We just need 2 of our guys to start smacking the ball around until they share a total of 388 and we're right back in it.
I did say 'slightly more serious note'.....

I don't see a problem with having one bad day out of five. The English are at their best when they have their backs to the wall. We shall fight them on the beaches etc ......

We do have a long tail which gives hope and if we can bat for two days then following on May not be a bad thing if the Aussies then have to chase a total on the fifth day.

......as they said in dads army...... We're doomed. Glad I have already won my bet with Aussie - even if it ends up 10-1.

Took a bit of a battering yesterday, right decision for Clark not to enforce the follow on. It really will be a Dunkirk moment if we can save this match....
