I think you all know by now how proud I am of my son Anthony. Not only is he a very decent and respectable young man, he is also someone so well known and liked by everyone on the South Devon Football scene. Ant is everything I do love about the game of football, someone who not only loves playing the game at every opportunity, but also someone who gives so much back to the game. If he is not doing work on the fixtures for the South Devon league you might find him at some Devon FA meeting or sitting on an appeal panel for another football league as an independent type of judge. Or he will be at a match his Plainmoor ladies the team he manages are playing in, as he was today up near Honiton. It’s always pleasing to read anything about him in the Herald Express or the Sunday Independent. There was a nice write up about him today in the Independent and after reading it all I could say was “that’s my boy”. No he does not play for any top club, or in some big division, but for Ant it has only been about playing the game no matter what level it has been and about just playing the game he loves to play so much. So in two spells at Marldon he has played 43 games and scored 86 goals and wants to get to 100 by the time he has played 50 games for them. As the man says, you would not bet against him doing that and I hope to watch a few of his next few games to spur him on from the touchlines.

....so in two spells at Marldon he has played 43 games and scored 86 goals and wants to get to 100 by the time he has played 50 games for them. That's an impressive strike rate at any level! Best of luck in pursuing the 100
