So the winter weather was all the talking point but it was not snow or frozen pitches but water soaked ones with ankle deep mud. These days the games would be called off and it shows how times have changed.
Does any one know anything about the tragic accident mentioned concerning the Sheffield Wednesday team returning home on Boxing day from Highbury?

This is the cover of the programme played on the 31st of October 1961 in a match played in aid of the Douglas McMillan trust fund, a player who had to have his leg amputated following the Sheffield Wednesday coach crash near Huntingdon on the A1 after the Boxing day game against Spurs in 1960 which resulted in a 1-1 draw. Peter Swan also suffered injuries to his shoulder but recovered.
