Torquay and Exeter teaming up to play Argyle in the Devon Professional Championship Bowl? How strange!
The "Combo" won 2-1 helped by an Argyle own goal (there's a quiz question for you) and a Tommy Northcott penalty. Mike Holgate gives the Plainmoor crowd as 1,580.
The TUFC History site says the same had happened for the 1959/60 final won 4-2 by Argyle. The line-ups in Mike Holgate's book show that George Northcott - currently featuring on another thread - played for the combined team.
