I'm copying the actual stats part of this thread over to here, the History Room, as it is now more appropriate and leaving the original where it is in the United Room to add comments to.
Here is a list of the teams we would've played if we'd won the FA Cup games we actually lost in each season, starting from this year and going back to our second year in the league. (We didn't enter in the first year, 1927).
I have not counted, for the purposes of this exercise, our two years in the Conference as being non-league.
Our original non-league years and information about these have been added by Jon.
For instance the top of the list shows this season, 2010/11, with the second column stating the round we reached and the last being the team we would've got in the next had we won through (Manchester United for those who've forgotton)
Interestingly how chuffed we would've been to have drawn Canvey Island at home in 2000/01 only to find ourselves up against them, but away, the following year!
And how we would've loved the chance to put one over a non-league AP Leamington in 1977, only to come up against them in round two the next season... and lose.
In 1947/48 we would've played the cup-holders Charlton Athletic
A win over Clapton Orient in 1936/37 would've left us with a long trip up North to pit our wits against Carlisle United, whereas the following season a win over Clapton Orient would've seen us make the long trip up North to play York City. Lucky we lost both then...
I've based this on the method used for the draw whereas the number of the tie from the previous round gives the ball number, irrespective of which team got through, ie; this year we got drawn first out of the hat against Crawley so whichever team got into the next round was then ball one. I'm assuming that this was the method all the way from day one. If not, and someone let's me know, it'll all change.

In 1912 and 1919 we did not enter.
In 1914 we were drawn away to St Austell, but the club closed for the duration of the First World War before the game was played, re-opening at it's end.
In 1927 we did not enter as we would have had to go through the preliminary / qualifying rounds disrupting our League schedule. The byes to Round 1 had been confirmed before the re-election vote, so Aberdare kept hold of their bye to Round 1 where they lost 9-1 at Exeter City!
