Buckland new this was going to be a real test, as Bodmin are one of the main challangers for the title.
Bodmin are 20 pts behind but with 6 games to catch up, anything can still happen. Bodmin knew that a win was the only result that would do, so as to catch up those points.
Buckland started well and the gaffer had 3 good chances to score early but the big man in the away goal saved well, Kevin Miller the ex Exeter City goalkeeper who had a loan spell at TUFC,
turned in a match saving performance.
Buckland`s first goal came in the 26 minute when a scramble in the 6yard box resulted in Danny Gaze shooting and with the defender on the line trying to prevent it going in, headed it into his own net.
Cameron Kelly had another good chance when he headed against the bar with Miller clutching at fresh air.the half time whistle went and Buckland knew that Bodmin would come out out with all guns blazing, in the second half.
Buckland doubled their lead on 69 mins when Lynch came in from the left and curled a shot that went into the side netting of the goal, that gave Miller no chance. 2-0
Bodmin Brought on substitutes and with fresh legs started to get into the game a bit more, a needless freekick just outside the box, gave the whites a chance, with Mark Berry lining up to take the kick he fired high into James Wannel goal, he got his hand to it but could not prevent it going in 2-1
Bodmin were now pressing forward and drew level when another scramble in the home goal ended with the ball hiting the post and going accross the goal, the ref who was not idealy placed gave the goal much to the disapoinment of the Buckland players.
Bodmin had a good shout for a penalty in the final minutes, but this time the ref went against the Bodmin Town`s appeals,
With time running out Buckland had one last chance but Miller saved the day once again for his team.
Mr Tinkler brought an end to proceedings, with mix feelings from everybody connected with Buckland Athletic that at the start they would have been happy with a draw but to be winning 2-0 with three quaters of the game gone, 3 pts looked on the cards,
But to be pulled back to 2-2 everybody was disapointed at the end of the game. only time will tell if it was enough for Buckland but Bodmin will have to win all the rest of their games. to have any chance of getting the title back.
MOM Kevin Miller(for keeping Bodmin in the title race)
Attendance 196 (with 20 from pasty land)
Will try to download photos later when ive got time
