Buckland had a score to settle as the Ashes had beaten the Bucks earlier in September 5-1, this was Bucklands heaviest defeat of the season.
The pitch looked in a remarkably good condition, after over 50 games have been played on Homers Heath this season.
The reigning champions started well and they took the game to Saltash, Buckland took the lead in the 20 minute when fans favourite Danny Gaze received the Ball out on the left cut inside and shot from outside the box high into the top corner giving the Ashes keeper little chance.
Buckland nearly scored again when Danny Lewis the ex saltash player went on a run inside the box and he shot against the inside of the post, and the ball came out just missing the onrushing Manager Antony Lynch.
Danny Gaze came accross from the left, to take some corners the second one he took went straight into the goal at the far post with Paul Hidler flapping at fresh air. this sent the Bucks into a half time lead of 2-0 and to get some well deserved fluids on board on this very hot afternoon.
Saltash rarely threatened the home goal and James Wannell had a comfortable afternoon between the sticks.
The second half started again, and Buckland were on the attack right from the start, the Bucks got a third when Liam Moseley scored, when he was put through by Mike Booth. 3-0
Buckland got the final goal when man of the match Danny Lewis got his deserved goal for all his efforts in the match. He scored in the 83 minute when Shane Gill passed to him when he could have shot himself. 4-0
The referee blew up for full tiime and Buckland knew this could have been a much harder game than the one they were given , by Saltash.
3 more points towards retaining the title 5 more league games to go and one cup final, could be an exciting end of season for the yellows.
Well done .
Attendance about 100( no details given)
