All these bloomin marks dont mean toffy though bud. But they should do: they're performance indicators. They are meant to differentiate from opinion by being based on tangible elements of play. Most ratings start with a baseline of 7 and go up or down depending on clear differentials during the game. Where do you place your baseline or did you just make them up on the spur of the moment? If yours don't correspond with the standard baseline then let us know or we don't know how to interpret their meaning; and we wonder how on earth you managed to mark seven of yesterday's team as performing at an average standard or less! All this time I have been watching football and forming an opinion - now I find out there is a "standard baseline" which if I don't correspond with I have to let people know! No wonder I am always wrong! 7 is way too high for a standard baseline! - Only one decent pass away from an 8 and a goal away from a 9.

Sh~t I apologise to everyone for my rediculous match ratings, I have just realised my Baseline indicator had slipped a notch on my match rating clipboard without me noticing. ;D

Sounds like a whole lot of argueing just for the sake of it! I'm very surprised it took you so long to join in It's not my fault that WarwickGull is stingy on his player ratings is it now? Very wary of getting told off again, so I just wait a while now and try to give a sensible view! Thought that might make you fall off your chair! ;D

I'm sure that there are - certainly Argyle signed Patterson over the summer and I'm sure that a league 1 or 2 club signed someone from Coleraine only within the last week or two.
I guess that there are a lot of youngsters who come over from Northern Ireland to Academies in England. The chances of success are very small for all young players at top flight clubs and perhaps playing back home in a more physical league than the Premiership youth matches post-release perhaps "toughens them up".

Cheers Aussie, I must admit I'm normally an occasional poster on the other forum which is down at the moment. Being midlands based and the first home I thought i would stick a quick report on here for the benefit of those not in attendance. I can take stick but don't expect derision, and it to be implied that I obviously have no understanding of competitive sport from people about my marks who were not even at the game, and whom know nothing about me. Looks like my report was not far off Dave Thomas's, perhaps he knows nothing about competitive sport either. ;D You must learn to ignore some folk as they can`t help but argue with others for what ever reasons! Don`t stop posting your reports because some of us still like to read them! I got a right bollocking for not being able to debate properly as I used to think that everyone must agree with me and soon learned to realize that these posts are merely opinion and that everyone has a right to their own, no matter how silly or daft others considered them. No-one has to defend themselves or their views but some people like to push them too because they find it amuses them, I know it`s quite sad but there you go, I expect some will take umbridge with this post but I can and will just ignore them, choose who you want to chat with and just simply blank anyone that annoys you!

People think you`ve been a bit harsh with your scores, have a read of this, I`ve just been over to the Vale Forum:- Tomlinson - 5 - I'd be tempted to drop him. Thought he was poor at Fulham and spilled a couple today. Collins - 5 - Far from convincing. Slow in possession. K.Taylor - 5 - Not likely to hold his spot. Owen - 3 - Shocking. Turned inside out, couldn't cope with the pace. McCombe - 5 - Improved as it went on but also struggled against the pace. Griffith - 5 - Couldn't get a foothold on the game but what a goal. Roberts - 5 - Gave the ball away an awful lot. Passing off the mark. Rigg - 6 - Tried to get in the game but often lacked a final ball. Faded. Dodds - 4 - Started ok but faded fast. Anonymous from about 20 minutes on. m.Richards - 6 - Tried his best to bring others into play but failed. J.Richards - 5 - Abysmal first touch at times. Wasted opportunities. Yates - 6 - Probably our best player but his crossing was v.poor at times. R. Taylor - 5 - Never got into the game. Morsy - 5 - Ditto. Their not happy bunnies! ;D
