I'll take that result tonight against a very good Crewe side who have been pushing on of late. Disapointing crowd to be expected, Imagine though if we had drawn a Premiership side in the cup they would all have been crawling out of the wood work just for a voucher. Money bags Crawley will do. We can at least rely on a great team spirit and a true grit determination to succeed and whatever the outcome one way or another we are sure to make some big headlines on cup day.

A real gutsy performance against a decent Crewe side. The lads worked so hard tonight and a number of our side were on their last legs in the second half - probably due to the amount of effort required to see off Carlisle on Saturday. We were really good for the first half hour and played some lovely attacking football, it was hardly suprising that we couldn't maintain that tempo of football into the second half.
One question though - is it really necessary to get on the players' and manager's backs when we are two one up and trying to keep hold of the ball? It doesn't help and just adds to their nerves.

If ever there was a game of 2 halves, this was it. First half was probably the best 45 minutes I have ever seen at Plainmoor. Against Carlisle was good enough but this looked even better. Sublime passing, pressing on Crewe as soon as they got the ball, bossing the midfield, well taken goals, their keeper making some excellent stops, shots just creeping wide. It really looked like men against boys considering Crewe were on a roll and going for their 4th straight win. Second half a totally different story. It was apparent ten or fifteen minutes in, about 4 or 5 players were running close to empty. Not suprising given the immense effort on Saturday and the first half here, both on a heavy pitch that must really sap the strength. Salient points - 1st half, the entire team played so well (although Bevs didnt have a real save to make). 2nd half - Defence had a couple of shakey moments. Big Guy was immense again (MoM again!). We should probably have used the subs earlier. Trouble is, you knew as soon as you did that someone would no doubt get injured. Benners, Danny, Eunan, Nicky W and even Manse & Zebs were starting to look heavy in the legs by the hour mark. Well hung on for the result in the end though. Bet theres some really stiff bodies tomorrow

B****cks - typed out an extended match report but lost it!
Anyway - in brief, agree with DvN. A game of two halves - the first of pure inspiration, the second of perspiration - and that was what carried us over the line.
I can only hope that all the scouts came down in a minibus to see Eunan and broke-down and only got to see the second half when he was clearly knackered and well marked! If they had seen the first half then they would be already on the phones to their employers to tell them to sign him up ASAP! He will make his next club some really good money, he really is the real deal.
If we finish above Crewe then I think that will mean us being in a play-off spot. A great win for morale and all credit to the team and Bucks.
