Well, this is what happens so often when a leading goal is followed by the substitution of a forward for a defender or defensively minded player. Instead of going forward to seal the win with another goal, they invite the opponents to come forward and the initiative is lost. You would think managers would realise by now that this move can often be fatal, and it is simply a crass error. Yep totaly agree with that

Just as I suspected, we went back to 4-5-1 after scoring! `I rest me friggin` case me lard!` I would rather have 3 points than prove a point, are we still bigging up 4-4-1-1 or 4-5-1? I think not!!!

I think not!!! 5 minutes to go, they make a double substitution to throw the kitchen sink at it........so he replaces a striker with a defensive midfielder, just as any manager in the feckin league would. Why can't you just accept that we lost the game because two of our players lunged in.....and missed the ball.

Why can't you just accept that we lost the game because two of our players lunged in.....and missed the ball. Quite simply because it is easier to defend when your putting it up `em! We know we can`t sit back so why the hell do it?

Annoying yes but shit happens and I can bet you that Bucks and the players are even more annoyed. Got to have somebody to blame though I suppose for what was only our third defeat on the road on the league. The armchair managers and annalists will be out in force tonight that's for sure. Move on people the bigger picture is far more important.

Our strength is going forward so lets hope Buckle realises that before we play bloody Crawley. Thats Kee and Benyon up front, supported by Zebroski and O'Kane on the wings. If Crawley have enough to trump that then fair play to them. No doubt we will trot out with the normal 1 up front. Perhaps we will get two penalties in the last couple of minutes. After all its hardly as though the ref is going to be intimdated by their management duo.

Ok i've retracted the "dim" bit Seriously the home team are 1-0 down, 5 mins to go, they chuck on 2 forward players, its shit or bust time. You can't blame any manager for taking off a forward and bringing on a defensive player to stop us being outnumbered.....they're obviously just going to lump it forward. Away from home.....its "hold on to what we have time" - their pacy winger was a threat all game, we made 2 INDIVIDUAL errors and paid the ultimate price. Had they scored at the death......because we didn't have enough players to mark their attackers, then you could blame Buckle.

What is the bigger picture though? - Is it any wonder people are annoyed - their best striker was out suspended, they can hardly win any home games and we have chucked it away yet again. What we want is the manager to play to our strengths. Theres only two weeks left for the penny to drop

I know what your saying but their changes didn`t alter their formation so why alter ours, we still had a chance. I`ll wait for the match reports because I`m only going off radio commentary. I know most managers would have done what Bucks did and I don`t blame him, it could have worked! It didn`t, I`m just throwing into the ring that it might be best sometimes to not change something that isn`t broken! I also wouldn`t swap places with Bucks because I couldn`t even begin to understand what he knows about football management!

It's a difficult one (decision either way) but I would have bought on another fresh striker in order that the ball stays in the Shrimpers half for longer putting less pressure on the defence. We have made (and lost a hell of a lot of points) a lot of individual areas over the past 2 weeks or so. From drawing at home to Oxford (one point) to beating the Shrimpers away (three points) both ending in defeats. I think Bucks needs to prise open the FA Cup wallet in order to bring in some fresh players rather than a loanee when someone gets suspended or injured. However you look at it, to give away two penalties in the last 5 minutes is very poor. ......Still, I hear the Dumpling and a Chicken Chilli Masala with garlic naan calling....yum yum.
