I managed to cling on to enough bandwidth to listen to this game on RD. Absolutely gutted for the boys. Yet again Buckle proves he's learnt nothing. Points go begging and we slip down the table. But don't worry we're playing brilliant football, who's kidding who?

But don't worry we're playing brilliant football, who's kidding who? We are playing some pretty good football DTG and hopefully you will be able to watch us in the fifth round. A defeat like that is always hard to take but the loss at Morecambe last year inspired us on to that unbeaten run as the defence finally clicked and maybe history can repeat itself.

Only 4 points from 4 league games this year but possibly deserved more!
Hereford - we were the better side, should have won but two defensive errors did for us.
Oxford - came back well and looked good for win but again went down to a sucker punch when we deserved at least a draw.
Crewe - better team by miles in the first half and deservedly hung on for a win.
Morecambe - I wasn't there but it sounded like we had the better chances with their keeper MoM! Did not concede from open play.

I did not listen to the game on the radio and so far only have what I have read on this thread to go on and Paul Buckles views I read. It’s a bit confusing reading the thread as some are saying we changed the formation just after we scored and that was to blame for our defeat, while others are saying we got caught on the break looking for a second goal. Whatever is the real case, Bucks can’t be held accountable for defenders making bad decisions in the box and they know only full well, you can’t go sticking your leg out as you risk giving away a penalty. .To give two away in such a short space of time, is very poor and has cost us the points in a game according to Bucks we were in control of for most of it. It was only a few days ago the lucky 1900+ saw the best half of football played at Plainmoor since our promotion season under Leroy, yes today is a big disappointment as we were winning the game with so little time on the clock. These things happen in football matches as we ourselves have in the past, grabbed victory from the jaws of defeat right at the death. The players will feel deflated for sure, but they will learn from the game and come back bigger and better players for it and we need to just move on and look forward to our next game. Maybe it was the change of formation that got us caught on the break!

But don't worry we're playing brilliant football, who's kidding who? Yeah, well. Bucks obviously told the players to make sure they gave the Morecambe players the chance to dive and get a penalty in his half time talk. You really need to get your ears checked as you obviously didnt hear the same game as the rest of us. Didnt notice any comments from you after the Carlisle or Crewe games though. 2 stupid penalty decisions in the last 5 minutes really smacks of naive defending.

Any pie reports people, they apparently do a good home made beast up there! It is a good pie. A little like your Pie Floater you were on about the other day. I didn't take a picture of it as it was the same one as last year. The one this year was without mushy peas and not a great deal of gravy as the two f**kwits doing the catering van a) ran out of peas b) ran out of gravy and c) decided to the fill the water boiler up with water from a mop bucket in the middle of half time service.

Top pie report, looks good, bet it tastes better! I want to do a `pie chart` at the end of the season that shows just who puts in the effort to produce good produce, Hereford are winning at the moment, followed by TUFC and Morecambe. All hand made good quality pies, I feel this is key! Unfortunately I didn`t start this at the begining of the season and have missed some clubs fare, feel free to report on any pies from games played before the `Pie Thread` started! Thankyou!

I've never been to game like this one in over 20 years of supporting us and it's unlikely any of us will ever see another game like this.
Mark Duffy is clearly a dangerous player and it was obvious that he was looking to go down in the box from the slightest of touches.
Having said both penalties were very soft on our part and it was naive defending to leave a leg dangling twice for him to go over. However, there really was no need for the gestures Duffy made to our fans at the end, and if that isn't inciting the crowd, I don't know what is. A stronger referee would have put him in the book for that.
Putting all that aside, we have to start being more ruthless when we are on top so we are not protecting a one goal lead in the closing stages of games as we have been recently. It's no exagerration to say that in the last 2 games we could have been 4 or 5 goals to the good before the Morecambe or Crewe scored.
If we don't start killing games off when we are on top, come May we will end up wondering what might have been.
On a positive note, Billy Kee was excellent again when he came on yesterday and scored a superb goal.

Chris and Dave, thanks for the match report and match pictures! Too bad that we threw away another game that was in our hands firmly, especially with just a few minutes to go. Who's to blame, I don't know? Who are we to expect our team to win every game and to compete for top spot this season? Based on what? All I know is that I'm happy to see the team do built on last season and do better and at the moment it looks as if we're just doing that. Reading the reports on here it seems that Buckle has managed to get the team playing a fairly consistent and high standard of football at the moment. All that's missing are the proper results to (fully) justify this sort of football. Let's hope the team learn from their mistakes and cancel out these sort of errors in coming games starting with Saturdays game against Gillingham.
