I was there!
This was Clint Boulton's comeback match. It was the shortest comeback in history - off injured very early on.

Me too. But then I've got a pretty good record of getting to our games at Northfleet save for the one in 1949. I've a recollection of a Gravesend supporter remarking to his mate that Steve Cooper reminded him of Gerry Armstrong of Spurs and Northern Ireland. To which his mate replied "Gerry Armstrong's left bollock, maybe, but nothing else!"If only they'd known.....

Blimey - we seemed to have spent more money on transfer fees on that team than we have on the current squad (I can only recall us spending a transfer fee on Mansell and LR-T). I wonder how the 'real term' salaries compare between the current team and the teams of the late 70's / 80's.

My main memory of this one was the Torquay fans gathering in the home-end until just before the kick-off when the locals arrived fresh from the pub resulting in an unseemly scramble to get out of that area ASAP. The advice from the handful of police at the end was 'The station is that way, run as fast as you can!'. There were also some bloodied Torquay fans on the train going up having run into Argyle fans traveling in the same direction if I remember correctly.

Thought I posted something about this before but cant find it. I was at the home end with three others but we left early and went down to the other end. I was with I think a guy called Ian Tharby, his Dad and someone called John. During the match the local yobs came looking for Torquay Fans and some stood behind me and heard them saying `this is one of them`, I was shit scared. Luckily Ian's Dad had found a plank to lean on and told them to clear off whilst waving the plank at them, we had no more trouble. I also remember a lad being pushed around by some yobs, don't know his name but he's a tall lad with glasses who was a Birmingham City and is still a regular fan. Does anyone know him? Here are some pictures from the Huddersfield home programme showing supporters(including me)on the way. The one in front of me is John. I also recognise a guy called Buster(front left). I will post the complete programme tomorrow.
