This 2as my first Torquay match,as we we're on holiday, staying at a guesthouse opposite in Bronshill Road, and saw the match advertised on a poster on a telegraph pole outside the b&b!I became an an Arsenal fan(originally coming from North-West London,in1967-1968.I've had a soft spot for thr Gulls ever since! It was a great holiday,a great day for me personally -Spurs 1-Arsenal2 and Torquay winning 3-0!Excellent!

Opening game of the season and Torquay went top of the table in the old goal average days being the only team not to concede a goal on the opening day. After narrowly missing out on promotion in the previous 2 seasons looked set for another push. Didn't last though, and although the club finished a creditable 6th in the old Division 3 there was a larger gap to the promotion spots than in the previous two seasons. ⚽️
