We also played Accrington Stanley, the original version.. not the new version stated in the records above, in the FA Cup in 1930 when we beat them 1-0 away. Of course we are still do win against them in the league but we will sort that next year!!!

There was also the 1910 FA Cup game at Accrington when Stanley beat Torquay Town 4-0. Torquay Town had recently been formed by the amalgamation of Ellacombe and Torquay United and this was, I think, the first entry into the FA Cup by a club from the town. Given the town's clubs had rarely previously ventured beyond the county boundary, the cup run - which also took in trips to Branksome (near Bournemouth) and Oxford - must have been quite an adventure.
