I would imagine that a lot of people are looking forward to this match as we take on our former manager and players such as Bevan, Stanley, Zebroski, Carayol and Kuffour. Of course, this is a local derby in its own right with the last match played on the first day of 2007; not one of our better seasons and one in which we were unable to score against Rovers in 270 minutes of football! Buckle has certainly assembled his own team in double quick time there and last Saturday put out Bevan, Smith, Brown, Anthony, Virgo, Stanley, Gill, Anyinsah, Zebroski, Harrold and McGleish. Surprisingly, Carayol after a very good pre-season only made the bench and was rumoured to have tweeted "heads f***ing gone" shortly before the match started. However, he did come on after 70 minutes with Kuffour also a second half substitute before Zebroski, apparently didn't have the best game, was taken off himself after 52 minutes. Rovers got off to a good away win with an eighty fifth minute Virgo penalty winning the game 2-3. Harrold and McGleish were the other scorers. The Rovers match against Watford on Wednesday was postponed but the Torquay match looks like it will be on. I am not sure what side Buckle will put out and the missed Watford game may not be an advantage at this stage of the season. With this being the very first Rovers match at home with a new manager and players, the attendance should be high and no doubt be boosted by a strong away support which could be around the 1000 mark? My fear of a Zebs, Stanley, Gill and Carayol midfield may not come to past but this is a side that will be up there come next May and could be a good time to play them! As for Torquay, Ling has a nice selection dilemma in that after a good performance from Howe and Atieno, Kee is back in the squad after captaining the NI U21 side to a 4-0 win, helping himself to a hat-trick along the way! The defence sounded like it was better and in midfield, the only issue is on the right where Stevens and McPhee have started so far but for my money, Macklin would be more of a threat there, in the first half at least. This should be a cracking match as both managers like to get the ball down and play attacking football and I can see a few goals in this one.

On dot com now is that the seating section in the South Stand has now sold out but that may have only been for 266 places. The good news is that there is still standing room with tickets on sale at Plainmoor until 4:30p.m. today. Payment is also possible on the turnstiles tomorrow but with a £2 surcharge although this will probably suit exiles more!

Looking forward to a proper local derby for a change. Rovers V Torquay always used to have a special appeal and its nice to have the fixture back - for the time being at least. Plenty of quality in their side for this level and hopefully we will show that we have a bit of our own to but I do fear we may get beaten. Still more pressure on them first match at home with very high expectation levels after major changes on and off the pitch. They should also be a bit fresher having had their match cancelled in midweek where as we travelled and played a tough match at Soton. Don't expect a result so anything will be a bonus.

I'm not sure whether this can be called a big match! If it is, as we all know, our ex manager wasn't that good at them...winning one in four! One thing I have to mention~ which no one else seems to have~ is our keeper! Having looked at the highlights of the Southampton game, I thought he was at fault for at least two of the goals! Having heard our ex managers comments on us a short while ago though, he doesn't look upon us or this game with any importance..........2:2 draw for me!

You could not ask for a more tasty game for the second one of this brand new season. I’m not sure there will be as many answers after the game as there would have been questions before it, but that is something we will just have to wait and find out.
Paul Buckle will want and do everything in his power to make this his first home win for him and with the resources he has had to build his new team, on paper at least, you would think that is what he will do. But we all know that in football any thing can happen and I believe we should go there with no fear at all and with the attitude the game is there to be won.
I do feel there is a big risk that this could be a game full of niggles out on the pitch and I would not be surprised if a number of yellow cards were issued and I do feel we could even see a red card or two being shown by the ref.
I can’t wait to learn the result of this match and the reactions afterwards and I do hope if you go to the game, you will put up a report on here. If we win this match then I can see Buckle coming under attack from a number of Rovers fans, after all a number of his players were supposed to be the pick of the team he had when he was our manager.
If we get a hiding up there and I can’t see that happening, what will our fans views be on Buckle then? Will they say that he is showing he is a good manager who deserves to be at a much bigger club? Or will they have something else to say about him?
What ever the result it won’t have any impact on the outcome of this season for TUFC or Bristol Rovers for that matter, but I know every single TUFC fan no matter where they are in the world, want nothing more than to see a TUFC win today as that is something Buckle will find very hard to take and swallow.
So have a safe journey to Bristol today all my fellow TUFC fans and stay safe, not sure how Rovers fans would take a defeat in the first home game of the season with all the hype that has gone on since Buckle took over the job and even more so against the club he left to join them.
We will have very good support for our players there today; cheer them onto to what would be the most pleasing of all victories this season, as I would love nothing more than to see the smile wiped off Buckles face today.

More of a smirk than a smile. A forced smile not genuine. Rovers will find that out soon enough. Yes lets wipe the smirk off of his face.

Or will they have something else to say about him? He's on a hiding to nothing really from the whining sheep on here. We win today (and/or finish above them at the end of the season) then he's a crap manager. They beat us (and/or finish above us come the end of the season) and its only because he's got more money to spend and can buy "our" better players. Whilst its always a kick in the teeth not to get a result in any match, I dont get too wound up if we are beaten by a better team on the day. If we give it our best shot, thats all we can ask of the team. If it results in 3 points then excellent, if not then thats football (unless the refs a total dork, which could also come under the heading "thats football).
