unfortunately had to work all weekend and its the first game ive missed. cant access the highligts atm. out of interest which area of the pitch did their goals come from ? left, right or middle. The first was a header back through the middle. Second came from a free kick in our left back area and the third was also a foul from Nicholson in the left back area. The fourth was a breakaway through the middle after a Nicholson cross and the fifth was a quality lob hit from the left hand side of our area. If you were being very harsh then Nico did have a hand in three of their goals....

We created a lot, played some nice football and their last two caught us on the break as we chased the game.
So, too good to go down then?
Has a feeling of the late Leroy days to me.
We play poorly, we get thumped.
We play well, we end up with a high scoring draw.
Let's have a couple of 1-0s please.

No problem with a nice passing game if it works - looks fantastic and is great to watch. Especially if there's a solid defence to back it up. You can get away with it during pre-season; the problem comes when a manager attempts to get a bunch of misfits and mediocre players playing in such a way in competitive games. It never works. Question is - is it too late to change tack?

thank you. i was just wondering because i rememeber reading a few posts recently when oastler was getting some stick for the goals coming from the right hand side. i suppose it depends which side the tricky winger is. somehow i think nicholson gets away more lightly with it because of his popularity with certain groups of fans !! They didnt seem too interested in trying to get down the left wing so Joe had an easier time than against Cheltenham or Rotherham where he was getting a bit of a roasting. What also helps Nico is that Robbo is regularly covering out to the LB position when Nico get passed by the opposition. He did it at least 6 times in the 1st half Saturday (and at least the same against Rotherham) and it doesnt exactly help with picking up players in the middle if Robbo is out there (also makes it look like he's being pulled all over the pitch). Whilst I can see the positives in having Nico in the team (not that his dead ball delivery seems a patch on last season), surely with the need to beef up the defence, the strength and pace of LRT should be tried?

So Macklin is using his mobile phone on the subs bench. That just about sums him up really. He has shown absolutely sod all since he's been here and the sooner his contract is up the better. well said lack of respect for his team mates and the club in general, people pay good money to watch our beloved gulls, they dont want to watch a player tweeting..simon
