any idea who the ref is yet,we often get a dodgey little darling down at plainmoor, whom is hellbent on ruining a game and normally not in our favour Jock Waugh! Not someone I am familiar with but "think" he reffed our 4-5 away victory at Histon in 07/08. What a fantastic game of football that was - a cherished memory. Unfortunately the ref was guilty of awarding 2 very soft penalties to the underdogs. Let's hope he has gotten out of that habit!

Thanks for that Jonny and I can't think of too many away wins with that scoreline. The ref does regular championship level matches so hopefully will be OK.
I see that there are still 500 tickets left on the popside but no more sales are available after 7:30p.m. on Friday evening.

500 tickets left 2 days before a big derby game is nothing short of pathetic really. So all our concerns regarding derby games being played with only a 3 sided ground and not enough room, have been proved wrong,if we cant get 4500 people in for this derby then when can we fill it?

People just cannot be bothered to purchase tickets before a game. I could quite easily take a car full tomorrow if it was pay on the gate but I just cannot be arsed with trying to arrange to buy tickets. You have probable got to couple this with the fact that Plymouth fans have a bit of a reoutation, and people just cannot be bothered with the hassle of it all. No doubt the home section will be plastered with away supporters - no doubt the steweards will do sod all. It just isn't worth the aggravation.

If we ever want to progress as a profession football club things like this should never be aloud to happen, who is in charge of ticket sales at Plainmoor?

I see that there are still 500 tickets left on the popside but no more sales are available after 7:30p.m. on Friday evening. TUFC site now says the office closes at 5.30 (NOT 7.30) on Friday - which will make it impossible for anyone who works until 5 or later. It's a shame they couldn't stretch to an extra hour or two. Police may well have said no sales on the day. I do have sympathy for the club in this kind of situation as they cannot win whatever they do. The only easy option would be to ..... No - don't even go there. As it is, I reckon we will probably end up with the worst of both worlds - Argyle fans all over the place AND a failure to get a full house.

I see that the official site states that the Police and Club Safety Officer advised the club NOT to sell tickets on Saturday. A bit pathetic if I may say so as clubs all around the country deal with local derbies week in and week out with far bigger crowds and sell tickets on the day! This may cause more mayhem if fans without tickets turn up on the day and want to get in.
It makes you wonder how we survive as a football league club with such a inflexible ticketing system, not to mention the lack of local interest in a huge local derby. Quite embarrassing in fact. Anyway me and my son will be there, this is not a game to miss! Are these Plymouth loanees any good?
Will we win? It must be a rarity we start as favoutites against Argyle and on recent form surely we have every chance. It's going to be tense though, more so for Argyle as they are getting a long, long way from reaching the 50 safety points. Their form will have to pick up soon so it is match that can define both club's season. A win for us and we will be sitting very comfortably. So come on Torquay supporters, GET ON THE PHONE TOMORROW AND ORDER YOUR TICKETS !!

looking forward to this game,1972 was the last time we beat them in the league,a decieving fact if you look into how many times we have played them since then, which isnt many.On form we clearly should beat them, they arent pulling any trees up at present. But local derbies can be tetchey, niggly and not at all free flowing, saying that i reckon 3-0 to us,but nothing is guaranteed in this sometimes cruel game called football. The referee will have to be on his metal,i just hope the decisions he gives, for whoever and whatever are correct,mr waugh is the key to this game, and our fans can play a big part, argyle supporters will sing there hearts out whatever,we need to be right behind the lads giving it our all.Rene Howe will tear them apart given the slightest opportunity, this game will suit him

Pretty pathetic that we can't muster 1,000 more home fans than we did on the opening day of the season for a rare chance for a league Derby against Plymouth. I hated it when we gave the Pop Side to Birmingham and Plymouth fans back in '91 and '96 - but if we hadn't had the Grandstand out of action then we might as well have done the same for Saturday. As it is we could probably have partitioned-off a part of the Pop-Side and no-one could have had any complaints.
As for 'Alanmeerkat', call yourself a supporter? Do you think that you offer anything to TUFC in any way whatsoever? Why do you even bother posting about this club? Everyone has had weeks to buy tickets, if they haven't managed to do so by now then that's their loss - there is even a supporter who is over from Australia who has managed to contact the club to secure tickets.

the board have got a hell of a job getting lost generations of supporters back on board, none of which is the present boards doing. We have discussed this to death before, with no solution, but the only way new fans will come back is success on the pitch, even then the attendance increases would be slow and painful, its going to be a long long haul to get higher gates back. Economically, there are people who for one reason or another cannot afford to go at present as well,it all adds up to lower gates, promotion and a couple of higher league seasons would see increases for sure, until then the club, the board and us will have to grin and bare it for now
