going to stop off en route to take a butchers at sheffield fcs ground being as they are the oldest football club in the world That’s an interesting idea. Sheffield FC currently play at Dronfield where they’ve been for around ten years. That’s definitely on the way to Bramall Lane if you leave the M1 early and go through Chesterfield passing their new ground on the way. Doing this you could also look in at Abbeydale Park where Sheffield spent a large chunk of the 20th century. But for real longevity you’re best heading for the leafy suburbs to visit Sandygate where Hallam – a slightly younger club than Sheffield – have played since the year dot. That would make more sense when visiting Hillsborough but, if you’re happy to double back, it probably makes for a more rewarding detour. Oddly, not the first time I’ve spent a birthday at Bramall lane: Friday 3rd Dec 1976 Sheffield United 1 0 Chelsea (23,393).

My head and my heart are telling me different things about this one! If we can have 11 good performances then we have a chance, of at least a replay. I certainly don't think they are invincible given their recent results. A lot will obviously depend on our defence continuing its recent meaness & our flair players performing. I think a score draw and then we beat them at Plainmoor!!! I'm loving the old programmes being posted...

Looks like Ling is leaving the defence well alone with Morris continuing in the same midfield structure with either him or Manse performing the defensive aspect. Nice to read about Robbo returning to the club that he started out with as a youth player. He makes the point that if we had beaten Stevenage then this would have been a league fixture!

I don't think there will be a lot in this game, one goal either way! Of course it will be a relief in a way to lose this game...because we all know what will happen if we win! Expectations will again be high with talk of Man U and Gawd knows who else our opponents in the third round will be! Then we all know what will happen don't we...!

The money involved means you always want to progress in this competition as far as possible regardless of the opposition! We have done OK so far this year and due to a tragic event we will probably have a greater financial take than that for a normal league game which is more than our Devon rivals who will be focusing on their Christmas shopping this weekend! Safe journey to all those members travelling up today to what will be a new ground for most and I look forward to reading your match reports! COYY - Hoping for another cup upset!

No surprises in our line up. Cresswell will be starting upfront for Sheffield.

Cheers for the link Aus .... will give a it go nearer the KO, all though I gave up on free streaming sites for footie a while back as they seem to want you to sign up for this and that before getting access to the game. Your welcome, the one that is listed as Sky is the best one, it`s actually labelled as being Setanta when your on it!
