i just hope and pray lingy doesnt take that last gasp unimportant goal by mcphee as the answer to our now poor options up front.we need a suitable striker in for christmas, atieno nor mcphee are league two standard and will be found out in at least the next two games if picked

McPhee goal may only have been a consolation but at least it will give him some confidence as he may well be called upon over the Xmas period.
Why doesn't anybody give Stanley boss Coleman a chance at a higher level? He has performed absolute miracles at that club.

Howe misses the next 3 games, could it get any worse than that!! YES, Bodin is not allowed to play against Swindon which probably means Atieno up front. Is the loan market still open?? If it is it might be worth getting a striker in. If we do get a striker in we could always loan Atieno out if helps finance the new striker. Window for both loans and transfers is shut until January. Been out but looks like an eventful match!

Just seen the Rene Howe sending off on sky. He can have no complaints about that, even if the guy looked like he'd been shot.
We've been saying he gets a 3 match ban, but isn't there some rule that increases it by a further match if you get a second red card in such a short period?
Two of their goals looked to come from poor defence from us and the other just looked to deceive Bobby in goal. To be fair MacPhee took his goal well.

Yep, I think the second straight red is a four game ban but luckily this is only his first straight red! It does mean however, that he won't be getting a one match ban for five yellows.

After watching that tackle in slow motion I do have some complaints about that sending off Rich! A 50/50 ball that two metres out Howe is nearer to but then their defender makes a sliding tackle coming in from the side right across and in front of Rene. I think there is contact before Winnard gets the ball marginally in front of Rene who is still on his feet but by that time he has no choice but to go sprawling over Winnard's legs unless of course he pulled out of the tackle as Winnard started to slide in. I think it is Winnard who collides with Rene and of course is able to continue playing.
One to appeal?

Rene over the past games has been picked up by the Refs for what I feel are 50/50 balls probably due to the fact that he is a large unit. With this in mind (easy I know) he should be careful with those type of tackles. Just seen the tackle on the TV and difficult to see but no one from the club seemed to complain.
All three goals seemed stoppable........
......still I'm sure we will continue our unbeaten Rene streak against Swindon, Oxford and Plymouth.

The referee was way too quick to get his cards out of his pocket, I don't believe he had really considered everything that he had seen. I was not the only one in the away end who thought we had been given a huge slice of luck and the card was for Winnard. Certainly his challenge was more forceful.
A couple of texts during the game said that DT on Radio Devon believed it was probably the right decision, however from his position i think he may have been on the blind side of the contact. Their physio reckoned it was a poor challenge, and Winnard, seen writhing around in agony, was up and running freely 20 seconds later.
Rene himself tweeted after the match 'stupid challenge from me, what a d--k i am' so maybe he did leave his foot in, but he looked crestfallen and gutted as he disconsolately trudged off. Ironically, his tweet would probably work against him if we were to appeal!
I have yet to see the challenge again, but my gut reaction was that it was barely a foul from either player, but one which should have gone in our favour. Sadly, there is no point in appealing it, the FA and FL will always back the referee in a game that in the overall scheme of things isn't very important.
Out of interest, if the appeal was to fail, would we incur a further match ban on Rene?

Don`t like them, don`t like their ground and don`t like the place, their supporters are great, bless `em! They must grow `em tough up there to even be able to support such crap! Ten years ago Accrington Stanley were in the process of finishing 6th in the Northern Premier League. Looking at the national pyramid that season, this would have put them on a par with Tiverton Town and Carshalton Athletic. Now Accrington are in their sixth season in the Football League and reached the play-offs last season. I imagine their supporters can quite happily live with all of this. Some would have originally opted to watch non-league football in preference to Burnley or Blackburn; others would have been added to the ranks since entry to the League. Most, I’d suspect, appreciate (like ourselves) that membership of the Football League isn’t guaranteed for ever and a day. And, although Accrington’s ground could do with a roof on the away end – and some rather better toilets for visitors – they’ve made good progress otherwise with developing facilities. It’s a modest club in a modest town and – unless there’s something dubious happening behind the scenes – I can only wish Good Luck to them. In my years of watching football I’m hard-pressed to think of anything as unlikely as Accrington returning to the Football League. Love them. Our first ever trip up North - on Barty's -45th birthday. Thanks for reminding me I was born a mere forty-five years after 1910. That means my date of birth is now halfway between 1899 and the current day. What a thought! I actually dropped in to look at the former Peel Park ground on Saturday. I’d been there before and, as then, the only real sign of the old place is a brick-built block - opposite the Peel Park Hotel - erected by the supporters club in 1937 or thereabouts. Look closely and you can just about decipher the words “players and officials only” above a bricked-up entrance. It got me thinking where Torquay Town may have played in that 1910 FA Cup tie. Bill Luscombe refers only to “Mersey Fog” descending on the match. That’s not helpful given the Mersey comes no nearer Accrington than Stockport. I reckon the Town were probably entertained at Moorhead Park with Stanley not moving to Peel Park until after the Great War. And so it seems, just like last weekend, that jaunt of a hundred-odd years ago may have included a few Saturday night jars in Manchester.
