Honours even in a nice little match where both teams had several chances. Ricey did well saving the day in a few one on ones and parrying a few strongly hit shots well. The Bideford goal came from a corner in the first half where I think Craig looped a header out from the six yard box to the edge of the area where it was volleyed first time and went like an exocet into the corner of the net.
That is not to say that we didn't have any chances and a strongly hit shot (from Easton?) rattled the bar as it bounced on the goal line(or was it beyond?) and out again. I thought the game opened up a bit more in the second half and we certainly had more of the pressure. A quick passing move from defence starting with Leadbitter and finished with Craig putting Macklin through whose cross from the by-line was a simple tap from Halpin.
We couldn't quite work the winner and the match ended with Torquay in the ascendary and a well worked move saw Craig just firing wide from the edge of the area with the last kick of the match. Adam Davies on trail from Cardiff acquitted himself well at left back and particularly in the second half got well forward.
Team lined up 4-5-1 with Rice, Davies, MacDonald, Palmer, Leadbitter, Halpin, McPhee, Easton, Craig, Macklin and Yeoman.
