After Friday's opener, this match steps things up again in a fixture that is normally played away. Once again, Ling is planning on playing two separate XIs in each half in a match that should see the inauguation of BB for both fans and players alike.

Team: Poke, Oastler, Mackenzie, Downes, Nicholson, Easton, Thompson, Mansell, Yeoman, Bodin, Howe
So despite Ling saying Downes wasn't going to be rushed into the team, there he is...

Second half just starting with us leading 1-0 thanks to a Yeoman goal. Oastler was replaced by Leadbitter early on - hopefully nothing too serious
Second half line-up: Rice, Leadbitter, Hutchings, Saah, Cruise, Lathrope, Stevens, Morris, Craig, Macklin, Jarvis

Not a bad little match with the majority of the support in BB although the sun is straight in your eyes there when it is setting. The players did not use the changing rooms below and obviously some snagging works are still ongoing down there. Reading through the team-sheet, whilst queuing up to get into the ground, I was a little surprised to see Eunan was not playing and despite being told otherwise, that Downes was to put on the Torquay shirt for the first time and start in the first half. I was quite pleased with his debut and although it was against lowly opposition, looked assured on the ball and I suspect will strike up a good partnership with Saah. Bodin switched wings part way through the half and him and Nico were the outlet for a lot of our attacking play. The goal when it came was from some persistence from Yeoman who won the ball back in a central position just outside the area and unleashed a strong shot that just beat their keeper! The only cause for concern was when Oastler had to go off following a strong challenge... It was all change in the second half where Ling had got some bloke in called Macklin who looked a world beater and caused Tivvy no end of trouble! He overlapped well with Leadbitter and they caused plenty of problems. Both Morris and Nathan Craig reverted back to the middle of the park and generally put in solid performances. The second goal came from a cross by Morris that Jarvis headed against the post and Danny was able to steer the rebound into the far corner.

Downes was not tested defensively but his distribution looked decent with both feet.
Macklin showed us all what he can do - but we all know what he can do. He has obviously tested Lingy's patience to the full. Could there still be a way back for him? What a shame the lad has wasted his obvious talent.
I notice Howe was knocked off the ball a few times. Maybe he needs to put on a bit of weight?
Hope Joe Oastler's knock is not too serious.
Kevin Hill is a legend.
Fantastic view from the Bench.
The pitch has been significantly narrowed and the surface is struggling after the lack of sun since it was relayed.
