Result: 1-0 (Summerscales og ). Attendance: 1852. Crikey! End of season, nothing to play for midweek game in April 1975 - attendance 2,718. New season, Saturday game September 1975 - attendance 1,852. What was all that about? Was it because we'd just lost 6-0 at Crewe?

Well, David Street successfully completed his studies at Norwich School of Art and has been making his living as a designer in Norfolk ever since. He's also an Ipswich Town season ticket holder of long-standing. Mind you, I rather suspect he was slightly older than seventeen in September 1975! I bumped into David, by chance, in Babbacombe earlier this year after not seeing him for seven or eight years. He's had an upset over the last week because that was his mum who went missing and who was later, most fortunately, found in Occombe Woods.

That is a very hairy Rochdale side. Paul Fielding was only a teenager and was built up by the press as "the new Colin Bell" only to disappear withou trace before he was 21.
Did you notice that owngoalscorer Bill Summerscales had a pylon growing out of the top of his head?
